My E8500 Q827A366 VID1.25v pack date 8/07/08 needs 1.49v @ 4.48GHz; 1.506v @ 4.51GHz. It is an E0. Bought off Newegg. Complete piece of crap. Got an E8600 off eBay Q822A430, VID1.215v, needs 1.344v @ 4.52GHz, but runs EXTREMELY HOT! That E8500 @ 1.505v Orthos Small FFTs only gets up to 65'c highest, while the E8600 shot up to 79'c!!! Reseated over 10 times. It's the chip. Damn I never had any luck with good chips.

my last E8400 had taht problem with the high temps no matter what cooler i had on it... i got with intel and they RMA'd me a new chip. i have one of the latest/newest CO E8400 chips. and it is cool at all times now.it will barely hit 60c under intel burn test. at idle in the mid 30's.... it might be worth you time to talk with intel and tell them your have nproblems with the temps being so high,,,

holy crap e8600 79c at 4.52ghz....that sucks..i wonder if water could tame it...my E8400 at 4.45ghz runs 22c idle and 42c max on 100% load with water cooling...temps were read from Real Temp...why dont you just RMA your E8600 for another one or sell it

Just got my new E0 E8400 in and it looks like i finally found the golden chip i think:

    [URL=http://g.imageshack.us/img381/4360mhzsg5.jpg/1/][IMG]

Comming from a old C0 which could not do more than 4 ghz i am amazed by which chip and how little voltage it needs. I know that so short prime shows nothing, but atm it is still priming: 15 min now.
Will post later if it is totally stable and also use intelburntest.

Room temp is 78F which translates to 25.6'C.

I just wanted to mention that your temps are wrong...

There isn't such a thing as a killer radiator who can decrease temp below ambient. It's fairly simple to understand it...

A lot of people get a 22c idle when they use real temp....but i didnt really check my thermometer when i told you 78c i guessed and right now my feet are a little chilly so it could be more 76F room temp my windows are open here in florida....but really who gives a crap about 3 degrees if your already running low temps...and the killer radiator comment was a joke any way...i dont know why your trying so hard to debunk my temps....if you dont like my screen shots i posted above...then take it up with the software writers who made Real Temp

If that a golden chip then I must have a golden chip also. My C0 does 4.0Ghz at 1.28V actual. I havent tried lower vcore yet. So I'm not sure of what it is capable of.

And Im using an old GA-965P-DS3 board with BIOS that only UNOFFICIALLY even support worldale. With a GOOD board with good bios tweeking options I bet I could go a good bit higher. ohh yea i have this thing running on a passive ninja!!! Only uses case flow for cooling. No fan on the cooler at all.

Boy that info was old. As am I. Currently my kids have taken over my desktops. They are both sporting matching GTX1080's. Last Christmas I got everyone Oculuses and thus GTX1080's. My eldest is some sort of CSGO champion gold label something or other. Me I work and shoot real guns. Build Comps as needed.

It primed alnight stable at 1.320 v-core at 4.360 mhz and also passed intelburntest (i run iwthout loadline calibration, so that is way idle voltage is higher)

So happy atm with this chip. Burn damn intelburn really push your chip. the temp gets maks 55 degress at priming. Intelburn test gets it to 67 degress.

sorry if this info is posted already, but how can I tell from the box what stepping a chip is. I'm picking one up from microcenter and I want to call in and have a sales rep tell me the serial off the box. What serials am I looking for?

I am not sure what you want me to beat.. I can use windows and run a easy benchmark like everest cache/mem test at 4500 mhz with that v-core, but for me that means nothing.

A overclock for me have to be intelburntest stable or else i won't use it 24/7

Try post a screen with that speed and a 5*intelburn test session, then we can compare. I did first get the chip yesterday, so just started testing.

Atm i will let run at around 4400 mhz with low voltage, because the only thing i use my computer to is gaming WOW and a litlle fallout 3, and both games run so smooth i can't feel any difference.

It's not logic, you have to admit that, you are able to cool a CPU below ambient temps with non chilled water...also your load temps are amasingly low... your sensors are for sure borked at idle, probably too under load... Tjcasemax selected is 95, I would set it at 100 or 105 for more realistic values...
These readouts got nothing to do with realtemp, pure CPU mate... but it's a nice CPU doing those speeds, cherish it
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

every thing you said was debunked from the start...because True Temp reads 27c idle on the same board and cpu and dosnt go over 49c on 100% 30 min prime 95...so like i said its Real Temp that,s reading the wrong temps...i said true temp reads 22c idle and i got a reaction....people wanted screen shots so i gave them...i never said i believe them

nothing stresses my chip like youtube and xtremesystems. A true stress test. Intel should learn from the best
