Phenom II 940 Aussie pricing revealed?

    http://www.austin.net.au/ProductList...ategory=AM2%2b

In case they take it down,

    http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/9...enpricejz3.jpg

    532 AUD = 346 USD!

They have a ~10% markup for the 9950 BE, so I suppose 310USD or so is US retail MSRP. However to be safe, let's assume 350USD.

It's more expensive than the i7 920, but this is still a 3Ghz CPU. It'll still be faster in dual threaded games and whatnot. It's still MUCH cheaper than that alien Q9650 (same clock).

Thanks for the news man .These prices indicate 3Ghz PII should be quite competitive with i920(which truth be told rarely sits at 2.66Ghz and most of the time "turbos" up).
    I love the "alien Q9650" comment .
Maybe the price of a940 will fall after the launch,i can smell the price war looming.

I expected 400$ so this is good news.
BTW: They ship AMD chips in intel boxes.
Compared to i7 i expect lower power consumption at stock and similar fun with overclocking/benching.

    Whoa, nice find man!

Im willing to pay that price though.

I'd rather have Phenom II 940 for that price than i7 920 + X58 + 6GB TC kit, a lot more money into that

Im looking only 5 times a day over various shops in here to see if they got it on pre-order yet. But thus far nothing yet.

    [EDIT]
Besides that, this one comes with unlocked multiplier, i7 920 doesnt

Errr, I think this pricing ain't too bad. I would have expected 350Euro's tbh. Dont forget it comes with unlocked multiplier as well. I'd rather have a slightly less IPC CPU at 3Ghz, if it's even slower, with unlocked multiplier than a slightly faster, if so, without

Maybe before calling things losers you should wait until it is actually out and more solid performance figures are readily available and the prices are confirmed

I remember the first 9600BE Phenom's being about 235 or so when they launched so to get a 3.0ghz 940BE for $300 doesn't seem too bad at all. And of course this is all just speculation, going to have to wait until January to see what really happens.
