That Vantage scaling is simply unbelievable

    Performance scaling over single card:

    Crossfire link-up efficiency:

Understand this graph as follows: if a single card performs at 100%, how does two cards each perform in comparison to a single card. 100% means that the two cards each perform as good as one card, resulting in a score that is twice as high. If a dual card solution has a rating of 50%; it means that Single or CF has no effect on the score; in tri-cf config 33% means no effect.

    massman,
Is there any 3DMark scores for the single Radeon HD4670 on that config? I would like to compare with my Palit Radeon HD4670 Super 512MB graphics card.

I only did the charts, Zolkorn did all the testing. You can find the bare results on page 1.

Well isnt some of this down to the GPU being the absolute bottleneck- especially in single card?

After that, id put some of the scaling down to the 3DM score formulae and coding

The score improvements would be less by moving from 3-4 cards as the balance of power moves closer to equilibrium...maybe even tip the bottleneck back to the CPU?

Having said that, results like these make me quite happy about how ATI have implemented their multi-GPU solution. Good engineering well implemented.....finally!

Here is 3DMark06 score for my Palit Radeon HD4670 Super 512MB graphics card:

    SM2.0 Score: 3182
    HDR/SM3.0 Score: 3694

A little lower comparing to Zolkorn's results due to Windows XP/Server2003 display drivers. I think drivers for Vista have some specific optimisations that increase an overall performnce.

    Added:

I have just installed 80mm fan on the bottom side of the graphics card to cool VRAM chips. I have also rise the VRAM frequency up to 1100MHz and GPU clock up to 826MHz. Well, I am actually not impressed with my new 3Dmark06 score:

    SM2.0 Score: 3172
    HDR/SM3.0 Score: 3854

Yes I've seen 8600s do 100% scaling in SLi. GPUs need to get off the PCI-E bus and onto the QPI bus IMHO

    Wow, this is amazing!

I think I have some idea where ATI can go with their next cards now.
