You know, I did wonder if you had some tesla units in your lab. I seen some posts on the folding forum from people who wanted to contribute with them ( as in, already having the hw, not asking for advice on buying them as that would be the biggest waiste of resources imaginable ) but couldn't get them running.

Oh, posting about my cluster reminded me of something that I think you guys would appreciate. When I bought the cluster, the server room in my lab had enough cooling for the servers in the room and about ~5kw to spare. My cluster draws around 15kw, so they had to add cooling. Rather than get just enough, they decided to plan for the future and installed a cooling unit that has an indoor air handler thats about as big as a small pickup truck. One of these days I need to post a picture of it. It's pretty hefty.

Angra, do you know who does your HVAC work there? Which company?

Over the summer, I worked for Johnson Controls and we did stuff like that. We recently finished a job at the Cleveland Clinic... 12 air handlers that each move 125k CFM at like 6 inches of static pressure. Big. It's for a 1 million square foot building though.

we've suffered some team ppd damage recently, not sure exactly why. probably multiple factors. holidays, race is over, new wu's, etc...

I for one am taking a time-out... my 8800GTS is overheating in my small Arctic Silentium case and the power bill for last month (after I got the 9600GSO up and running) was a bit high for my parents. I'm toning it down a bit for now.

The new WUs are really putting a hit on the 9600GSOs. My 9800GX2s are between 4-5K ppd.

Same here, nothing has changed. The more hardware you add to improve output the more they will do to drag you down. Its a conspiracy to get you to buy more hardware I tell you...

I'm still running all that I was for the last 30 days, looking to get some others up, just no funds, and single core folding isn't really worth it, 200ppd out of a A64-3200...

The power consumption isn't a problem, it all goes into heat, which is good here in Minnesota.

shadowwind/zozo101... i just started using low voltage 4670 and starting to get 800+ out of them single card set up in 2 computers to get 1.5 k and using 350
watt psu also order 2 more 4670 1gb with 2 micro atx foxconn amd2+ boards and 8gb of ocz 1066 mem to get me to 3k i hope to help out some more.
if i did my math right it should be 65 watts per card at full load for gpu folding .. trying to go green lol .cant wait to see power bill if its bad im blamming the xmass tree and outside lights hehe.

Psu overheated because a fan failure, one of my screens showed snow and I pulled the plug in time I guess. Fan replaced, took a few treis to get the screen working ( thought I'd blow one of my outputs first, the other screen was fine but swapping them still showed a creamy white on one screen to it was the lcd. ).

Reset to factory settings, unplugged, plugged back in, fiddling with rt for custom resolutions and it came back to life

So nope, that's both cpu and gpu, speaking about that I'm going to use a passkey from now on so if someone treis to cheat with my username I don't get any problems as the points I bring in will be passkey confirmed

Spoken like a true FAH vet that's been in the trenches. LOL... between the 2 of us we have 18 quads. Don't know your vid card inventory but I have 6 9800GX2s, 4 9800GTS' and 4 9600GSOs. I was all in just before the real points reductions. I think my 3 million+ in 27-28 days will remain a personal record for a long time. When they dangle the next carrot to promote hardware purchases, I probably won't have the funds to upgrade as quickly. If nothing else history has taught us ya gotta get while the gettin' is good.

In addition to points they ought to reimburse for power bills after a certain point since they aren't tax deductible.

Well, the hangover from the big race is kicking in hard - someone pass the asprin! Between several of our big producers taking a breather, and the new GPU WUs that are slower and more complex, our output has really taken a hit. On a positive note, we've held onto #30, and our active folders is holding steady too.
