I think the nickle is so you can use it with the aluminum rads they make witha little less risk of corrosion. Same reason their old blocks were gold plated.

Not really, if anything copper oxides that would usually form have a bigger effect on performance (still very very small). Nickel is better for estetics and it will keep the loop cleaner and somewhat more safe if there's any aluminum in it, though I wouldn't count on it.
*edit* Copper does help against microbes though, but usually in a loop the water will contact copper directly somewhere else so that shouldn't be a problem.

There are only so many ways you can make a block. I really don't think it is a rip off of the GTZ, but as I stated, you can only make a block so many ways.

Why all the speculation of copying, Dean knows the community here...do you think he would come to post and unveil the new Koolance block if it was a duplicate design from another well known company? Sure, there are going to be similarities between blocks, lots of LC companies collaborate...just quit with all of the negative insinuation when a company comes here to give us news and details on an upcoming product.

If you can legally copy it, it just shows the other company's failure to have a decent patent on the design and is their loss. I don't pity the companies that had plans 'stolen'.

We're currently working on pricing, we will be selling three different CPU blocks for different markets, so its a bit of a trick pricing them correctly. Pricing should be available when I get the internal pics sometime next week.
As for it being a copy... I'm not really sure how to respond. Water blocks are fairly simple, not many ways you can make them different. In terms of design/ascetics it looks very different from the GTZ, I think what people are seeing is that the bracket looks similar. As for internally, we do use a micro-grid that is similar to the GTZ, but I hardly think that because they both have pins that one must be a rip off of the other. If we used micro-fins it would look like the EK Supreme! And the bowing, this was done partially do to posts here on XS about bowing vs stepping, and after our own testing we used what worked best on this block.
Stolen? Nah. You, generally, only have 3 basic current designs for bottoms that work well: micro-pins, micro-channels and the old school pyramid style pins. You can only do so much with those 3 patterns. Outside of that, you have free reign with the actual design work of the top, which is what Koolance has done.
I like the idea of the inlet being off center and carved into the piece, it might work very well - and if restriction is low, I wonder how will it would do with a nozzle there. Only time and tests will tell.

Sorry, but the Big 3 cpu blocks of today, The D-tek Fuzion v2, EK Supreme, and Swiftech GTZ are all completely different designs. And look nothing like each other.
If they can all come up with their own designs any company can.
I'll with-hold final judgment until I see pictures of the internals, but I definitely see A LOT of GTZ in this block.

Structure is one thing.
Each of the big three uses a completely different method of transferring heat.
D-tek, water forced through a nozzle onto an array of tall cylindrical pins.
EK, water forced through a spread nozzle to be passed though ultra fine fins.
Swiftech, water is forced across and grid of extremely short and small pins/ square bumps.
As far as I can tell the Koolance one uses this exact same style.^^^
