yup I think you are on to something here.
And +1 to the comments about this thing looking retarded.
However looks are a distant 2nd when talking about performance.
That is true looks is 2nd if that was not the case then thermaltake should be the No. 1 seller of all things since they make things all future like, but yet folks complain about their performance......I wonder though how much of a temp drop this thing gives overall vs something else.

Seems like these could be easily 'stacked' if you had two: by removing the side panels from both, you could use one set of side panels to 'bridge' them together, using the closest two side screw holes as the holes for the side panels.

Could even have fans on BOTH sides of BOTH radiators, it seems.

Maybe I'm blind, but it looks to be not THAT much thicker than a normal radiator with a shroud. Which can fit in many cases.

both radiators have fans, and all i was saying is that id rather have a thicker rad than a shroud

    Quietly lurking..

If the difference between an MCR320 and PA120.3 is only in the 6-14% range.

You might estimate something like this:

21mm thickness slim rads use up around 50-60% of the air's cooling capacity

42mm thickness rads use up around 70-80% of the air's cooling capacity

a 100mm thickness rad may use up something like 80-95% of the air's cooling capacity.

I would estimate you'll get something like a 5-10% gain from the extra thickness over a TFC360 plus the extra frontal area gain. The biggest gain will come from the larger frontal surface area (140mm vs 120mm plus spacing). Not sure what the actual area's come out to be, but I would guess you'll see somewhere around 10%, so the total might be 15-20% over a TFC360.

    Some wild ass speculative guesses

    MCR320 vs TFC360 = 10-15% gain
    TFC360 vs Monsta 360 = 10-20% gain
    MCR320 vs Monsta 360 = 20-35% gain

    MCR320 vs 2 ea MCR320 = 50% gain

Not likely going to beat two econo models with fresh air entering the rads, but it will likely take the crown of the very best triple 120 performing rad....AIR's HEAT CAPACITY IS THE LIMITING FACTOR when it comes to Low speed fan rad cooling. The biggest gains will come from one simple thing, more frontal surface area exposed to fresh cold air. You'd probably gain the same thing from 160mm width and 21mm thickness with slightly more density.

Not by huge or value justified numbers, but when it comes to premium, it'll likely perform pretty well.

Does it have a place in the market? Sure, why not, take a look at the watercooling worklogs and tell me how much of the cost and time in most systems is purely for performance?. 15% is probably a good number for that too.

I'm supportive of any product that can improve performance no matter how small. I wouldn't got recommending it to someone interested in a budget system though. If someone wants the best no matter the cost, then there you go. TFC has set their target on the Premium end, and this fits right in there.

I do like a few particular characteristics. You might be able to use the mounting plate holes for a side mount? I do like the 120 and 140mm fan spacing. This gives you PA like oversizing for 120mm fans which helps alot in cooling and reducing air pressure drop for 120mm fans, it does make it big though. I also like the dual porting of the plenum chamber, that's a cool idea and adds to the versatility. I also do like the extra thickness from a visual standpoint, I know it's not going to add up to an extra 50% gain like some folks might assume, but why not...something different.

For me, it is unfortunately only a triple radiator. I do like the 140mm spacing and it should perform well, but I'm dissipointed they didn't start with a 560 size as well. I don't expect the Monsta 360 will perform as well as my standard TFC480. I know alot of people complain about rad sizes, but I don't care, I would much rather run a 560 sized rad than a 420. When the mosta 560 comes out and I've got a hole burning in my pocket, maybe I'll pick one up then. For now, I'm saving my pennies for building a new Sand Rail from scratch that I've got on my mind...

I'm actually more interested in their new fans they are working on. Those appear to be something I very well might do some upgrading to depending on how they perform.

All speculation of coarse. Go buy one and start the testing...ARE YOU DONE YET!!! I am WAITING!!!!!

Hopefully they will send out some samples to folks like skinnee, Andy, and Hesmelaugh.

Cheers to speculation..lol! I'll wait to see some numbers.

    It's ridiculously huge.

I won't be singing it's merits as it's just plain too big for my tastes.

I have no issue with the design. I think the 4 port design is a good innovation.

    But it's still ridiculous

I am actually starting to get the wheels in motion again for something cool with this rad, or make that 3 of them and using them on the side of the case with a bracket that can put them all in sandwich mode...Hmmmmm Yes I am starting to like this idea and may just run with it. How much are these rads again? Also instead of the Carbon Panel sides I think I can come up with something much much better. Do those just bolt on or are they riveted?

hmm, bet you could use those 4 fittings as built-in T lines for use as fillports...

that thing is just silly-big though, be interesting to see how it performs

Looks too big. I wouldn't think it would perform that much better than a normal radiator. Would like to see it in action though.
