Along with that, I will be pairing a PC P&C 750W, Corsair 8500 DDR2. I am still stuck on the choice of motherboard and have narrowed it down to Asus Rampage Formula or the new Gigabyte EP45 UD3P. I think the Rampage should go over 500 FSB though the EP45 seems to do it easily. But then the EP45 has fried a few dual cores and that makes me a nervous camper.
Wish you luck mate, i hate to wait, have to wait mine like 10 days i have it on my way but takes tiiime

the 780i best all around board????? omg your hilarious

you just wait till you start getting data corruption on your hard drives, then BSODs then a dead board then tell me again its the "best all around board" lololol.

nvidia is known to have the worst boards around, soon enough you too will know the pain.

ok maybe your right MAYBE! MAYBE YOU RIGHT ABOUT THE Q9650 NOT BEING ABLE TO DO OVER 4 GHZ! I don't think he was looking to benchmark his pc. And the only people I have found having problems are people using stupid voltages. And keep trying to push there system it's called to many failed overclocks. You know when your booting to windows and the you get bsod when you get there. That happens. It happened to me two times on my p5q dlx and it also killed my 9800 gx2. So it comes down to only push as far as you can and would for 24/7. Unless you benching where you won't have much stuff installed and if you have it's called back ups 2 times a month a least. Would not go with ASus to many cold boot problems or even just working 1 day dead the next and you harddrive is corrupt to. MAYBE I WILL GET HIT BY A BUS 2MOZ BUT IM NOT GOING TO STOP IN ALL DAY BECAUSE IT MIGHT HAPPEN. WARRENY. I COULD GO ON AAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL DAY LONG. GO WITH WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU NOT WHAT IS THE CHEAPEST !ATI! Before you start NV fanboy I'm not that is a fact!!!!!

    Uhm...ok?

Anyway, I'm loving these Q9650's but I can't justify the price difference over the Q9550 .

I'm thinking getting 4-4.1 GHz out of an E0 Q9550 is pretty sweet for $300 less!

530 on a quad on air. With 7x but not with 8 or 9 that's one dead pc within a few days/weeks. This guy in the links is going for 25/ 7 prime stable not just benching. Unless you can get 530 on your quad x8 or 9x. May aswell give it ago mate then post back. Prime or IBT. Not being funny see how it goes

Not really, ... 500x9=4500MHz, thats not easy to run prime stable. only e few run at these clocks.

530x9 with wassercooling, no way i think. Super PI, ok, but not prime.

Super Pi i can run 534x9, prime 500x9

Because DFI X38 and X48 can't hit decent FSBs with any and all Quads. I have the same problem, can't get above FSB 460 with my Q6600 for the life of it, tried it for months lol. Another mobo --> 480 stable
Only no other mobo will hold my 250W Q6600 on 24/7 load without exploding
