According to the manual, when in x16 mode, the lower PCI-e slot is inactive.
Ok guys still cant get this to work. I get "No Signal" on my monitor. I have done the following:
Returned first board thinking it was bad pci-e slot, still doesnt work
Took a different videocard from a WORKING system and still no signal
Tried a different cpu, still no signal
Would ram do this? I doubt it would and i know these sticks test out fine in memtest, im assuming my jumpers are wrong or something? This is so irritating, here is what mine look like (this is a SS from newegg)
Are my jumpers wrong? I cant think what elese would cause this
dod you get a post code? what is it? those jumpers are correct btw.
WOW so weird, i put in my other graphics card and it didnt give any signal, let it sit and just now put my 2900xt back in and IT POSTS WITH VIDEO!!!! I dunno what changed but eh whatever. Is it normal anytime i edit the bios it shuts down, boots up, shuts down, boots up, shuts down, then boots right up?
anybody with nb voltage 1.4 and above?
my nb seems to burn like 90C or so....i'm just asking if you guys ever ran your nb voltage so high it actually heats up ..or my nb is just hot ....water cooled nb seems not good enough..
using my fingers as temp probs..dang..its hotttt
q9550 E0 at 3.95 is bootable to windows...3dmark somehow fails..will test higher nb voltage...
alright guys i got it fixed.. Thanks to all of your suggestions.. i ended up taking every jumper out and rotating it 180 degree's and reseated my molex connector.. restarted and BAM.. fixed.. glad i got that out of the way..
Anyone have a Q6600 with this board that can give me some bios settings to try.??. i can't get past 3.17 Stable.. BTW i have G0 stepping
glad the video now works.
the shutting down and starting-up multiple times means your voltages or memory timing are not set correctly....so...it finally resets the bios to default settings...do not make multiple changes when you are changing the memory timings or voltages.

Is the molex connector on the board only used when the second PCI-E slot is being used? I had my GF's CF 4870s in my machine, and vantage was crashing when until I plugged it in. I don't see such things on my X2, even when OC'd.

successfully overclocked my q9550E0
4ghz+8800gts(g80) =almost 15k3dmarks06...
i had to work with the gtls pll didn't need 1.7v
used .67/.67/.59
just my two cents...

I noticed you have ddr2 mode Disabled in most of your overclocks.. does this mean your memory is only running in single channel.. and why is this neccessary?
all i can tell you is what modules i had success with.
i used GSkill PC-6400 (2 x 2gb) and Corsair Dominators PC-9132 (2 x 1gb)
i had rev 5.1...what's the difference between 5.0 and 5.1, don't know!and another thing..i was reading a few threads back about the v5.0 and v5.1 that's like the gigabyte's
Rev's 1.0,2.0 & 2.1 right? should..I see that on the box the version of the board?

Cool thanks man you said G.Skill that's what..I order from newegg this below
first time trying this type memory.i just wanna do something different instead of corsair

on the board rev's I'll do some research on that and ask around i know gigabyte's Rev's come out every 4 months!
this board auto sets mem voltage to 1.8/1.9v dunno why but it does that could be tho prob, although the Vmem volt mod WILL take care of it.
