I would love to have you around again, I kinda mis the chilled finish homor![]()
read my title
I know![]()
yeah, I'm not sure why mine are not reading the gpu's.. I was switching them all to systray clients while RR posted... lol now they are all systray 6.21's here's a screen if it helps. clients.txt, systray config-no client parameters, and trying to view the 9800gt which is folding on the machine that fahwatch and fahmon is running from...
http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/1950/13816869pt2.jpg
on a side note: you should make an app like this called "GPU Server WatchDawg".. and monitor all the failed sends and down time.. lol..
your slogan could be like "BITE BACK WHEN THE GPU SERVER GOES DOWN!".
btw: nice fahwatch app, don't let my difficulties impede anyone from trying it. RR has a bunch of clients and his ran without a hitch..![]()
I been looking at your SS and my code for I think 10 minutes or so, but it doesn't make sence. UNLESS you have disabeld the windows management instrumentation service?
Thing is, the textbox should clear on a combobox change event before any code in the function get's executed, except some declarations involving the wmi service.
And, as you can see, the screen says the service manager for mpich is not found, and the foo result is 'False'.
Those are false reports as your service is installed and running otherwise the client would not be running as well as it is
So.. you put your vista on a diet?
Edit:
The uploads/download I will add it's not much work but I rather have everything which is in there already to be bug free before I go add other functionality. I need to work structural, part of my 'issues' you know![]()
yeah, I have a lot going on on this pc all the time...
but it has 4gb of ram at 925mhz, so it handles it pretty well.
Maybe I'll figure it out in a couple days, it obviously works. I need to try it on one of my dedicated folders, they're just a basic Vista64 install.
When I select one and uncheck eue it shows all...

No I mean did you run some script/regfile to make your vista quicker, disabling 'un needed' services?
Wmi needs to be running for everything to work, I don't really see how you could run without it as it's a heavilly used service which basicly is used to control everything what goes on in your pc.
Look for service "Winmgmt" it should be running. if not, start it and run the application again
Edit:
Thanks for checking RR, seems I can rest assured it doesn't miss any wu'sYou said it takes 30 seconds to process an entire update? It sounds like much, but as I checked here, in those x seconds cpu usage is still almost nothing, and it checks both fahlog and fahlog-prev so I parse allot more lines then most other monitors. When I will add the current progress tracking I will change the approach, normally the code works top down but for current progress bottums up is offcourse quicker ( done this before
). I will probably change it so only upon startup the entire history is read, and from that moment it will use the other approach.

It is an install that's about a yr old now. the only thing I've run on it is http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/ about 6 months ago to clean up the registry and get rid of all my old install pointers in the reg.....
other than that the only thing I disable is UAC... I disagree with those vista otpimization deals...
that service was running when I checked just now
dont worry about it. I'l try it on one of my other pc's later on tonight or tomorrow morning... they're just basic installs, they dont have a years worth of my personal daily software installed, so they're alot cleaner..
I am a circular thinker Mike I can't help it.. or tbh

Marvin, nice tool. I think it's something missing though, you need to get it to check if the client continues to fold a WU after an error like for example CoreStatus = 7B (123). So if it finishes the unit even if there was an error, there's no need that it shows up there. Just my .02, because both of my SMP's are throwing errors if hey get shut down, yet they always finish the WU they errored out on, even if I reboot the box multiple times..
Otherwise, very informative tool!![]()
Show me a log example of this occuring, as I can't exactly envision what you mean. If they throw an error, and you restard them, you mean they continue on from the last checkpoint or start again?
You cores status message read <> client core communications errors, deleting current work file and continuing.
If you think it just finished the same wu afterwards I think you are wrong, as this a definitive EUE code. What can happen and often happens, is that the same PCRG is downloaded 3 times in a row and you finish it the next time you get it since the client - core communication error is due to either network instability ( mpich without loopback for instance ) or because of messing with the mpich service manager ( guilty..) and it will finish next time because the incident causing the eue doesn't repeat itself.
Sorry I'm not making much sence atm I think, I'm seeing zero's and one's for my eye's and my communication skills do down the drain![]()

They always do this (and believe me, the first time I saw this I was likebecause I thought I lost a day of work), while I was tweaking the GPUs I had like 6 or 7 0x7b's and the unit still finished in the same run, i.e. it continued where it left off. That's why I thought a function where it ignores the errors in a WU that finishes would be good.

I didn't realise you were talking about service mode errors. I need to talk with someone from PG is this corestatus will change in the short future or not. I can keep track of the previous wu and the current one but the problem is that you can also get an eue, and the real next wu is the same because the assignment server is set to 3 tries before deciding the wu is bad.
This was mentioned before in the thread on the folding forum, though not with this core status and the mentioning of it being a service mode running client.
I will add this to the 'to do' list, thanks for pointing this out![]()
Bumpity, FYI if you update fahMON to the latest build, dl fahWATCH again as well as I changed the code to take into account both diffrent markups of clientstab.txt
Newest build works both for the tab delimited version as the " " spaces delimiter![]()
I'm getting the same object error on one my dedicated folders... this one has a fresh vista install from oct 2 when I converted it to vista from linux to accept the $50 9600gso in the deals thread.. so I dunno what's going on, maybe it has to do with Vista 64 home premium.. because that 9600gso box is a just a month old basic default Vista64HP install w/auto updates and the folding apps on it.. lierally it's a next next next install, then turn UAC off and get it folding machine. and basics like firefox, fahmon, precisiontool, cpuz, screenshot pilot, etc... i dunno I give up.. all my machines are the same OS media (retail Vista64HP)... i guess that it's different in some way that RR's business version, because mine are all getting the object error.

I think it's a client specific error which happens when the code wrongly treis to assign non existing hw to a client. Idk why it didn't happen with RR, but I expected it to happen with most people. I will look into it tomorrow, the gf wants me in bed
It's due to me not being able yet to test this at home in the debugger, and me not having included an intermediate window ( debug code, kind of like log of each step of execution ).
I'm really beat, eyes are loosing focus, and the missus is threatning me now![]()

Adding intermediate window now ( kind of like a logfile ) to help with your debugging efforts ( bigfrom me for taking the trouble, strange thing is most issues which are reported I can't duplicate here so I really have to rely on your reports coming back in
Though atm I know there is an issue with reading the clientstab file, even if I thought I already fixed that ( again it works locally ) but it seems the update timer is triggerd during the first parsing loop if you got a long enough list of clients in the form. I'm disabling the timer untill the form is completly loaded and the first update is done
*Fixed clientstab.txt issues and edited top post*

Well the debug window will help I hope
Btw no new version but looking back at Mike's screenshot made me realize I don't have an application icon yet so you get that generic icon for a shortcut as well
Looking through my collection of Ico files now, but if someone wants to make me one it would be great as well. I can do some ps work but icons been way to tiny for me to doing anything with it. Icon size is 32x32 or 16x16. Vista requires 32x32 afaik and below 16x16.
Who wants to make me a nice XS icon, so I can try and pimp xs abit on the folding forums![]()
