So this card is real and will be hitting the shelves? Not a huge difference from the HD4870x2 with similar CPU clocks

Yes it's for real And here in Greece it is going to cost about 400€, while 4870X2 costs about 460€

It will hit the shelves in approximately 10 days (a week or so)
Furthermore, it'll cost 399.99$, which I suppose is perfect 'cause, the price gap between 4870 and 4850X2, and the one between 4850X2 and 4870X2 are now equivalent Hence, the buyer can now make a clear choice based on his needs

Zolkorn can you measure the mounting holes? Going to try and get one of these and hook up my dice pots to it.

The MCW60s weren't originally made for 4870X2/4850X2 ... instead they are only made for, nVidia 6800 and greater, G80 VGAs, ATi X1800 and greater, nVidia FX series, ATi 2900 series (for the last 2 modification kits included) [as far as I can remember - correct me if I'm wrong ] and most of old ATi & n-Vidia VGAs (like 6600 or X1600 for example) ... Now, in order to cool a 4870X2 with 2 of these, one needs to do some modding and that happens because the plates for it don't fit (grats to siberx for this great guide) Now imagine that 4850X2 is a tad bigger than 4870X2, so it should work ... maybe with some modding though

AFAIK, Swiftech will release new plates for 4870X2 in about 2 weeks or so They should be compatible with 4850X2 as well , or else I don't see any reason for Swiftech to release them

Woohoo!! My GPU pots have HD4850 mounting holes Now I just hope the PWM on these things won't crap out at 975MHz.

I really want this card. I loved my 4850 crossfire setup and I'd be even happier to have a single card and a black PCB.

I know this card was planned from ATi but is this a Sapphire build similar to Asus 3850x3 or are all ATi vendors going to stock this?

    I want me a diamond 4850x2.

The card looks rather promising, am i right in assuming it sits between GTX 280 and the 4870X2?

4850's OC like mad, it would be interesting to see what a set of these running balls out frozen would do

Very nice card...all too tempting to try a pair of those in CrossfireX instead of a single 4870x2...tough call.
