Looking for a mirror for Martin's reviews

Sorry if this is old news.

Apparently www.martinsliquidlab.com is linking me to www.skinneelabs.com (with naught but a tantalizing banner!!). Is there a mirror for Martin's reviews anywhere, or will they be archived on Skinnee's site once it's up and running?

Holy crap! Sorry to see you go Martin.

Skinnee has some big shoes to fill.

Let me know if I can help.

I just went looking for Martin's site, saw that and came running back here to cry about it!
Kibbler beat me to it though.

Is there any way we can keep martin's site up? At least archive his review pages? That stuff was invaluable, the most thorough testing i've seen.

I've donated a few times, but obviously there wasn't enough coming in to cover the costs.

Yeah that's my concern. If it's an issue of web-hosting costs then we can try to raise funds on XS. If it's a matter of Martin's personal choice to shut it down, and rightfully, deservedly so, then I hope his reviews and data will be archived somewhere at least (skinneelabs.com?). His body of work and analysis is invaluable.

Same story here (infact I was in the middle of making a thread when Kibbler's popped up)...

It's sad to see it disappear but I understand. It was popular (even tomshardware users were talking about it) and definately a valuable resource. I just hope that we can gain access to it one more time so we are able to save EVERYTHING (I only have some stuff).

    Webhosting isn't that expensive.
How much bandwith does his site consume?
    Must be another reason!

Pants down...I can't even find my pants at the moment.

I'm still in a bit of a shock over all of this as well, so please be patient with me.

Folks, I did get the site up for the time being. As for a mirror, well that is not in my hands.

by "pants down" perhaps he was referring to that curious dollop of white "goo" on that CPU, that's the first thing that caught me eye in that banner

No rush man we patiently await your progress.

Sorry guys, I just had to pull the plug.

I've had a good time learning and sharing the results. As with any testing there is always inherent errors involved, I'm not perfect and neither is any one test. As I mentioned before, I'm the type of person that sort of hops from one hobby to another. Four years ago, I was spending every last moment on dpreview.com in the 300D forums learning about photography. Four years before that I was breathing streetbikes and ran serveral streetbike websites including forums. I generally get very focused on one thing and live, eat, and breath that one thing until I am done. I've been at the "Done" phase with watercooling testing for a while now, unfortunately I've managed to get quite a backlog of parts to review, to the point where I had several months worth of work to do. To make matters worse, some of the vendors continued to send me parts many times I didn't even know they were coming. Sounds like a dream come true for you guys, but it became this never ending nightmare for me and I just wanted it to end.

In addition I began to start looking at the reviews and testing and data I've collected and wondered what good it was really doing. To me, it's alot more fun seeing everyone test and share their results in this forum. Then...yesterday I received email notice from my website host that my domain will expire soon, I had been planning to get out of this for a while now, so I figured it was a good time. Christmas is coming up, and I'm ready to focus on some different stuff...just part of that transitioning of hobbies I do along with most people I know.

I'm not vanishing anywhere, but I've decided in order to make testing fun and recreational for me again, I just need to loose the weight of the website. It just becomes enough hassle that it feels like work for me, and I don't want anything to do with that anymore.

So in the end, I encourage you all to test and share your results here. Fill the forum full of your own results and have fun with it!..Many people have been do so, so carry on with it!

I'll add a couple of website links to the page for more forwarding options.

Is there any way to access all your past reviews and the such?

It was all very interesting stuff, and invaluable to the community.

Actually, I'm thinking of getting my lazy but back into shape again and spending my mental energy at work again. All this woodcutting this fall and my recent less than stellar health screening at work has presented a need to get more active again and I'm motivated to do that. I've always enjoyed weight training and have been getting back into that again.

I have a pretty good job that's actually pretty interesting. I'm also fortunate enough that I can remote in to my work computer from here at home and do my normal highway design stuff. It's interesting stuff, and I'm faced with challenging problems to solve pretty much all the time. Working on some interchange realignment type projects right now...good stuff!

Otherwise, just going to spend more time with the kids. My son is now 5 years old and my daughter just turned 2. That's a full time deal on it's own...

Nope, it's gone. My domain will soon expire, and I'm keeping it all to myself. If you have a question, test it and post your results here. Part of my "Testing Stimulus" package..

Man, I know...but carry on with the goodness. I was still surprised to confirm the block orientation issues, and that carried on to alot more than just one block...interesting stuff!

Will you keep the Flow spreadsheet available at the very least?

Sure, here is the latest version I had updated. I couldn't attach it in the forums here because it's over the attachment limit.

    http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...et-v1-7-a.html

I'm not planning to continue updating it though, but feel free to do so....it's nothing more than an excel spreadsheet, and I'd have no issue with someone wanting to carry on it's development, just call it something else..
