here's a gpu server joke for the day...

Why do so many mailman (aka gpu servers) go crazy?

    absolutly hilarious......

ya know what id like to see, someone with some video editing software redubb over his voice about being a folding server and keep the triade going for a minute or so
Its not overkill if it works.

Back up for me, right now anyway. Yay no more idleness! My current accumulated points show that I haven't done much today though thanks to the server bugs

Thank you, thank you very much!

It seems that the plans were not planned very well.

Count me as another whose GPU clients are all down.
Agreed completely and those 5801 WU's are a definite problem as they error stating that your very STABLE machine is UNSTABLE. I have said this before and will say it again, if this were a corporate operation everyone involved would be fired.

Someone posted over there that since Stanford was having network issues maybe they sent these out to stall everyone for 24 hours until they got the network back on its feet. The things people can come up with when they want to...

About that coat hanger wire...I actually think that the 12 gauge (average AWG) wire would have quite a bit of bandwidth. Now wet string would be a different matter.

    Budget comes into mind?

I agree that it's important that PG gets this sorted out ASAP.

Yeah, you explained it well in the other thread.. this is your way of blowing of steam and staying in the project. Sorry I didn't understand that

If I had of messed up then I would of been hung

The guys at Stanford are obviously getting funds from sponsors to run FAH. They just need a decent infrastructure or network team to help them out.
See what I said to Road-Runner, might be budget? Who do you think sponsors the Pande Group? It's all public domain, no big private backings there, and I think they don't have it to luxerious with their budget like most university run projects? I can find medical institutions like the Howard Hughes Medical Institute who do fund parts of the research, but do they have the necesarry funds?

I think they relatively got more of the knowledge needed, then the funds

Riptide maybe you should add the link to the serverstatus page to the stickies? Or is that there already?

mine are up, but they're due to cycle soon...

you can look up server status in fahmon, it opens straight to the server status page...
copy/paste the ip from your log in the lower edit find browser window, and it jumps right to the server.

How about we ask UF to add a server info browser comparable with the project info browser? I mean, it does the same, parse through the webpage? Reason I ask, I have code for that ( had it for ages ) but I never completed anything as I never could get 'the whole picture' ready. I know he's open to suggestions and code additions, and if you guys think it will be nice to see if a server is down or up for the project you're currently crunching I'll ask him about this.

Think of it this way, in the current wu panel next to project it will say something simple like "Server ok" or "Server Down".

I've been sort of "out of the loop" lately, but just noticed that I am no longer turning in GPU units. I replaced my GPU cores and now it looks like they are churning again. Sorry for the point dropoff during the race guys.

I am getting about 5100-5200 PPD per card (numbers from fahmon) Although i do not think i am seeing a full 10200-10400 PPD at the end of the day ( i will turn off folding occasionally to play COD4 or DIRT). I have both cards set at a core/mem/shade clock of 666/888/1800 using RivaTuner. Also boosted fan speed to 100%. Hope you like the results RR!

http://folding.stanford.edu/English/Main is up idk which one you mean?

You can use -queuinfo to check wu's in que, note the servers they need to upload to

    http://fah-web.stanford.edu/serverstat.html then check them here.

Though I can tell you without looking, the servers are having a very hard time keeping up.

I just tried and it was up http://folding.stanford.edu/

they had some downtime on the gpu server posted this morning http://folding.typepad.com/

I just bookmark this page, all the links are at the top http://foldingforum.org/

and yeah I've got one sitting in que right now too..
    Code:
[20:42:06] + Attempting to send results [October 30 20:42:06 UTC]
[20:42:07] - Couldn't send HTTP request to server
    [20:42:07] (Got status 503)
[20:42:07] + Could not connect to Work Server (results)
    [20:42:07] (171.67.108.25:8080)
[20:42:07] + Retrying using alternative port
[20:42:07] - Couldn't send HTTP request to server
    [20:42:07] (Got status 503)
[20:42:07] + Could not connect to Work Server (results)
    [20:42:07] (171.67.108.25:80)
[20:42:07] Could not transmit unit 03 to Collection server; keeping in queue.
    [20:42:08] Completed 36%
the other 3 cards were successful. I guess it's still hit or miss on getting thru 100% of the time. hopefully that scheduled downtime this morning is an indcation they are trying to get that server up to par to handle all of us gpu users..
