how do you know since Tcase max is 74.1C? Are you using an IR thermometer, or thermocouple on the IHS?

Well I'm a little pissed and happy about my parents new PC. It runs cool and overclocks well. Unfortunately their E8400 overclocks a lot better than mine.

    vCore: 1.25V (BIOS)

Mine (C0) needs ~1.4V in order to become stable at 4.0Ghz.

LOL! Funniest thing I've read today. Tell Leeghoofd to put your parent's e8400 on his list, LOL!

Lol, you guys are too sweet.

Yeah I told them and honestly they wouldn't care. To be honest, I want them to have a relatively 'cool' computer since it gets somewhat hot in their office and I need a chip that can sustain low voltages at higher frequencies.

That said, I will most likely just sell my E8400 in hoping that I can get a E0 someplace else. *crosses fingers*

    Their PC specs:
    Asus P5Q Pro
    E8400 E0 (8x500, E0 stepping, 1.25V)
OCZ Vendetta 2 (using my custom bolt kit, does the job well)
2x1GB Patriot PC2-8500 (crappy overclockers but I had some spare sticks so I decided to use them.. )
    WD 320GB HDD
    Samsung 22X DVD writer
    Corsair 620HX
BFG 8800GT OC (sounds funny but came from my build after I upgrade to an 8800GTX)

All inside a 1 1/2 year old Thermaltake Armor.

Currently burning in my new Q828A434 VID is 1.25, currently 1.19Vcore (1.250 set in bios LLC disabled) for 8 x 500FSB

will let her burn in some more and then wack her up to 4.5Ghz...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree
