    hi guyz

    i have a Q9450 stock at 2.66Ghz

I was able to reach 4Ghz, but my temperatures are too high 75 C full load. Here's my voltage settings:

    CPU Volt +0.3
    DDR Volt +0.4
    Chipset Volt +0.4
    FSB Volt +0.5
CPU Core1 GTL Ref Volt +0.63 VTT
Core 2 GTL Volt +0.67 VTT
MCH GTL Ref Volt +0.64 VTT
    CPU PLL Volt 1.5 V

I need to lower my temps, any tips? Cant lower CPU voltage = unbootable windows

I sent them an email and got an answer after two days.
The answer was awful and too short, the English was even worst.

I have TP45 HP mobo, but also no bios updates. It's quite annoying, especially there are few things to correct

I wrote here about the problem I had, I RMAed the board and the new one doesn't have this problem.
Thanks for the people that helped.

A little question: Under which menu they hided the option for disabling the RAID ? cannot find it anywhere :/

Under the first section in the bios where it says enable sata device as, or sonething like that. You'll see it I dont have the board installed right now.

Just ordered one of these, partially due to your thread, Ace. Thanks!

Just got some G.Skill DDR2-1066 modules so I can actually use the board. Good up to at least 550. Now...if only I can find some sucker to trade my C0 for an E0...

Your voltages are pretty high. The temp seems about right. What are you using for a cooler? What is the VID on that chip? It going to be tough to stabilize that chip since you cant fine tune the GTLs on this board. The GTLs are very important on a quad. That one of the major reasons Im selling mine.

    I haven't lapped it.

What is "VID" and where can I find it?

You'll see it in CoreTemp. It is the voltage that your chip requires to run stable at stock settings. It is different for every chip. Mine is 1.225 which is quite high for a 45 nm chip. If I was using your voltage settings my temps would be high as well. If you're looking for the highest possible 24/7 fsb for that chip get another board. Between the HUGE increments in core voltage and the lack of any real settings for the GTLs it,s going to be tough to stabilize that chip. Also vour voltages are high as hell. A 1.7ish vtt is not good for your chip. You also shouldnt need a 1.5ish vcore for those clocks, unless you have a poor performing 45nm chip that eats voltage like mine. My P5Q Deluxe requires lower voltages for the same clocks on the same exact hardware as this board. I also get better performance at those same clocks. This might be a good board for benching, I dont know, but if you are looking for a 24/7 rig that performs well just save youself the agravation and ditch this board.

Why are the temps of your cores so high on idle? Something is wrong there. What voltages are you running there?

Could it be the setting? Its on Automate Overclock. NOT IN Stock settings. You want me to try getting the VID at stock?

The VID dosent change. Something isnt right. Run it stock settings and see what your temps are at. If its still high you might want to reseat your heatsink.

    QFT.

Either bad mount or too much thermal paste.

    TPower I45, Q6600 @ 480x7, 1152MHz memory - Page 1 of 3

    BIOSTAR TPower I45, 07/10 BIOS
    480x7, Memory 1152MHz
    Q6600 - Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme
    2x1GB OCZ Reaper PC2-9200 1150MHz 5-5-5-18
    EVGA 8800 GTS 512
    Yellow Slots Used For Memory

This CPU tops out around 3850MHz stable but requires a lot of voltage. I had intended to run the CPU using the x8 multiplier but on air this turned out to not be possible. Running Linpack the cores were hitting 96C - 98C which is why I settled with the x7 multiplier. Using the x8 multiplier the board was able to pass the other benches. The board also had no issues running the memory at its rated speed.

    welcome onboard!

your high temps running 8x is an eye opener!...what kind of fan, CFM & speed were you running on the TRUE 120 when running Linpack? case or open bench?

This CPU has been beat around pretty much so needs a ton of voltage to run 3.8 and above. The fault is not with the True. It was more then warm to the touch. It just couldn't dissipate all the heat being generated. I used a low speed Delta. Maybe in the 80cfm - 100cfm range and the board was in the open on the bench. 64Bit Linpack is brutal when used with quad cores. I was mainly interested in stable settings for the memory to run at its rated speed. I'll probably stick an E8400 or E8600 in the board in the next couple of days.
