I was thinking that, actually. I wonder how much of these Sossamans are snatched up by us. To my knowledge, we're the only team that runs them en masse. I think there's been a dozen or more sales in the past few months to our community--and for an item like Sossamans, I think that's the majority of the demand.

    They don't want to deal.
They had them up for $50, then when I offerred they bumpted the auction to $55 then told me $50 each for 10 of them, then I waited and didn't reply and they are now back at $49.99 plus $10 shipping with 14 left..
That's an excellent price to be honest, $111.00 a pair shipped in the US..

Seems the ebay 2.0's have been relisted after I forgot to buy. They're cheaper as well now.

I got my hands on a board recently as well, hence I'm buying two once Paypal tells me I have the funds. Still needing memory as well though, are these boards really as picky with memory? Should I just pay a bit extra and buy something from the compatibility list?

I saw those before, shipping is around $30, for some reason it's cheaper to ship from the states/canada than from the UK (I'm in .eu). Really weird. Apart from that they seem to only accept credit card payments.

    My parts arrived today

I'll see if I can get some pics of the system when it's up and running.

EDIT: The DDR2 ECC REG RAM I picked up was in fact DDR2, but it were Micron extra special chips with a physical DDR interface. Off to the retailer now to swap some parts!

Crappy photo, I'm lazy. I'll make decent photos when I receive my CPU's and/or when I can be arsed to build it into a case.

Care to share the name of your retailer? I got rather sick of checking for all the tested modules from the SM site and looking on the Tweakers pricewatch to see which is cheapest at a reliable store.
For now I settled for the 2x512MB ebay things posted here, though eventually I'll need more RAM, I'm planning to run ESX so 1GB won't be sufficient.

    Eh

I've found a nice cheap kit of PC2-3200 now anyway

Will only be picking up 1GB now, just to get the system up 'n' running.

This memory speed thing is really confusing, Intel's Specsheet specifies 400Mhz only, but some 667 kits work ok, In the UK 667 is cheaper than 400, and Im on a budget, so its hard

But i'm staying well on the safe side this time
