Hardware.fr got a GT200b chip in their hands.

    Apparently, it's pin-to-pin compatible with the GT200.

As far as I remember, Damien had that dead(?) chip since Nov 2007... and they didn't mention anything about it when they 'gave' some away to journalists.
Could it be GT200 @ 55nm ? Maybe.... maybe not.

    Don't raise your hopes though...

I would chose single card/dual GPU over dual card/single GPU, any day.

And btw in US it's somewhat like 3AM?
    US time != world time;

You expect nVida to make some press conference, or whatever at 3AM? : E
I expect nothing from nV. The whoop-ass master for opening cans talks too much, but does so little.

If the card was supposed to be released today it should have been on the shelves already and all the reputable sites should have their reviews done and posted.

i dont think something is getting launched today...

some asian guys always get their hands on the hardware and post it weeks (at least days) before launch, at least the specs and pre-benchies

is there a press conference today, anyway?
i dont think nvidia would launch something like this hushhush
    system:

    Phenom II 920 3.5Ghz @ 1.4v, benchstable @ over 3,6Ghz (didnt test higher)
    xigmatek achilles
    sapphire hd4870 1gb @ 820 1020
    Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H
    8gb a-data 4-4-4-12 800
    x-fi xtrememusic
    rip 2x 160gb maxtor(now that adds up to 4...)
    320gb/250gb/500gb samsung

we're deep in this thread, so could anyone remind us what started this expectation that 55nm GT200 will be out today, or this year for that matter?
Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following the release of Flash Player 10.1.

And... like I said some posts ago... there's no hardware to be launched today
And surely not this month at all.

I see what I see, and you see what you see. I can't make you see what I see, but I can tell you what I see is not what you see. Truth is, we see what we want to see, and what we want to see is what those around us see. And what we don't see is... well, conspiracies.

I have no idea what`s wrong with NVIDIA. Maybe there is no GT200@55nm? No leaks, no benchmarks preview, no die shot, no specs. Simply NOTHING confirmed. Maybe NVIDIA has some problems with 55nm version of GT200 like ATI had with 80nm r600? Or maybe it wants to skip 55nm and go straight to 40nm next year? I don`t know but there are some strange moves from NVIDIA because it needs something new to fight with Rv770. No visibly faster but surely cheaper. But now? Hmm still waiting?

This entire thread shows why posting Fud here with no sources to back it up is only a waste of bandwidth and people's time. There is no refresh that was due out today, and there never was.

I wonder how many people waited on this only to loose deals where they could've used rebates and didn't because of this thread.

Post stuff like this when you have at least something to make it believeable. If you don't come forward with an official source it's meaningless.

    Dude... that's not right actually.
Unless you expect the people who have sources to expose their sources...
    What are you expecting ?
Recording a tel conversation or a video recording of a meeting and posting it in public ?

There are two kinds of people...
People who are attention whores, who'd post anything just to get some attention or hits ( like some sites that I'm not going to mention now ).
And... people who have sources and get some real info, and sometimes leak some info because of their excitement and "will" or "love/passion" on helping the PC enthusiasts, etc.

I can easily name some people that are trustworthy and have brought some real info in the past and of course didn't provide what you call "proof" back then.

    no offense,

    Friendly,
    Bill
