Right now here's what I'm at.

E8600 @ 450x10 on a P5Q Pro

vCore: 1.384v under load (CPU-Z)
FSB Strap: 333MHz
GTL Ref: Auto
NB: 1.10v
CPU PLL: 1.50
FSB Voltage Termination: 1.20
vDIMM: 2.1v
SB: Auto

I can stay in Windows all day, P95 Small FTT fails after 2 mins. Not sure if I need to up the vcore, or some other voltage? Any ideas? I can run 440x10 with all the same above settings only 1.34 vcore no problem.

Ok I got a .8 ns increase from switching which was 52.8 by the way not to shabby. I haven't touched my overclock yet though. It is cold here maybe I will do some cold air benching tonight and see how far I can get with this bad boy .

I swear this motherboard can not get over 490 FSB for me at all. I tried everything possible including disabling Load Line Cal.. and it was plenty cold enough.

The P5Q BIOS pack (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CYL4M0TJ) isn't working for me. Anyone else able to get it to download? I really need to try the P5Q Pro 701m BIOS.

no problems at all here. cant say anything on overclockability tho, I'm taking a break from that right now.

I swear this motherboard can not get over 490 FSB for me at all. I tried everything possible including disabling Load Line Cal.. and it was plenty cold enough.

The only bios that let me stably get past 490 fsb was 703m. Maybe you should give that a shot. However one problem with 703 (for me at least) is that it almost always fails to resume from S3 standby, and it sometimes resets the entire bios as well. Got too annoying for me so I switched to 1406.

i know i posted this b4 but no one answered me

if i go back to default in my bios it boots at 266 FSB and not the 333 FSB.

on the OCing side of it, i got 4 GHz stable tho i cant get the vcore any lower then 1.4 in windose. (this is my first time at overclocking) At 3.825 GHz my vcore is 1.29/1.30 in windose.

ill post my settings for 4 GHz tonight when i get home

Well i finally got 500fsb stable with the 1406 bios, but it took 1.20VTT to get there, not something id like to run 24/7 but at least i know i can do it now. I will probly try 4500mhz here soon now that i know what it takes to get there

what is your other bios setting ?
it looks cool , your cpu voltage is pretty low

guys: true or false.... disabling the USB legacy supports helps to prevent RAM/BSOD errors in vista with asus mobos???? i read that on another forum

With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 and set the memory Voltage to 2.0 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.05 Volts as well and test the system with www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.

That voltage could be stock 1.21v if i wanted at 4000mhz i just kept it on 1.28v cuss i didnt feal like changing it i was just testing the FSB

how much do you need to add voltage for PLL and NB?

because my stupid striker has a voltage reg problem and keeps blowing up and so i cant ever get to finish building it lol

Well I have been gone for a little bit of time now 24hrs lol. I figured I would post a pic of what I was doing. I was cutting holes in my case so I could tuck my cables out of the way better and to get better air flow. Here is what it looks like. I know the video card is bending a little but, it will be ok I'm sure. I actually lost my Keyboard and Mouse in this process "the USB wireless controller broke" and my spot cool broke as well.

They are all going into a hole I put there to run the cables out and around the back of the case . I do need to tidy it up a little if possible. Though it's probably not going to be very much, and I need to move that one stray fan wire at the top left, that thing is irritating.

PLL is stick 1.50v and NB was at 1.28v


Truehigh roller that massive heatsink is hillarious lol, thank god for watercooling.. How much does that thing weigh ? Its bigger then the powersupply...

Not quite bigger then the power supply but, I will never have to fill water or worry about a leak and they happen eventually unless you tend to it enough to actually catch it before it can do damage I guess but, still I would rather not have to worry about it TBH.
