Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following the release of Flash Player 10.1.

Upon looking a little more I found this other site I've never heard of that has this to say:

1-2 Weeks Product is expected to be available to ship in approximately 1-2 weeks.
    http://www.needthese.com/AMD_OS2376WAL4DGI_751951.htm

If you google for the product code you find a few websites that are getting ready for the release and have then listed but say they are Out of Stock. So lets hope that they are already on trucks heading to these places because I want the price of the 2350's to drop, I'll need another one soon.

Not surprising, 2.5 GHz is the top speed for 65 nm Opterons.

1000 series almost always comes after the consumer Phenom launches. Not too much of a critical market it seems.

Am I reading this incorrectly (on Newegg):

    65 nm and 2MB L3 cache

    ?

    Is this really the Shanghai?
Win XP Pro x64 / Win 7 x64 / Phenom II / Asus m3a79-t Deluxe / 8x2 GB GSkill and some other stuff.....

So I guess the gist of it was that the older ones are now on sale because the newer ones are about to come out?

    That it?

PS. Was it ok for me to quote you? I tried to open my eyes, but who knows if they were wide enough..... (in other words, english is actually my second language and I honestly mistook the meaning of the posts, so cut me some slack rather than the perceived "attitude". A simple clarification would have sufficed)

Mattias, the problem he's pointing at is that you don't appear to have comprehended. In fact, you took away the exact opposite understanding.

What he's pointing out is that for 45nm 2.5GHz quad vs 65nm 2.5GHz quad, the 45s are much cheaper. The 65nm chip will cost you $1300. The 45nm will cost you less than $800. The extended observation was that this drop might be due to the smaller die area afforded by the 45nm process. He was impressed that we are essentially getting a better chip in every respect (clockability, heat, speed) for more than a $500 discount due to the new process.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.

Mattias, the "old" ones were always for sale on Newegg. Those were Barcelona(65nm) Opterons and they had 4x512KB of L2 plus a 2MB shared L3 cache with top frequency of 2.5Ghz for 2P and 4P capable chips. The *new* ones are based on Shanghai core(improved Barcelona, more IPC,more perf. + lower power draw) and are build on 45nm process node. These have 4x512Kb of L2 and 6MB of L3 and a top speed bin is increased to 2.7GHz(should be a good 20-35% faster than Barcelona @2.5GHz according to AMD).They just started appearing on various sites.Officially still to be launched(i guess this week).
