Well I'm a little dissappointed with the E8400 considering everyone sells it like it's the next coming of Christ and all. I had a better overclock with my trusy old 6320 from 1.86 to 3.5 stable 24/7 with less voltage then the current cpu. The P5Q Deluxe is finally stable also, didn't take very long but there are certainly little differences from the P35 chipset. Here's a little somethin somethin, still working on it, but this cpu is stubborn and needs the juice, can't get it over 4000 mhz stable.

I'm selling my P5Q Dlx (having stability issues over certain FSB) and probably getting another P5Q Dlx
Anyone has FSB at 450mhz+ and Balistix and its stable?
Ive seen few A3 revision of P45 (on DFI- but they says its CPU-Z bug?) Are there any changes if A3 is real?

Wow, with latest BIOS i can run my system with stock voltages and CPU at 1,45V. Impressive. And best of all, it's OCCT stable. Couldn't be more happy with this board

I would use a mix Nigelke as some Core2's seem to have way-off sensors... a good value is about max 10°c difference between the cores (being higher than cpu temp) and the CPU temp read out by the mobo...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

It sounds like it's a new uninitialized drive. go to computer management and setup the drive. After initialize is done then just format it and you should be good to go.

    CoreTemps come from the cores.
CPUTIN temps come from the board.

CPUTIN temps are very low, incorrect, and useless. those are the temps Asus uses. cause they are stupid, and they hope you are too

As has recently been revealed, the core temps from the diodes are ridiculously inaccurate as well, only reliable as you approach PROC_HOT/Thermal Shutdown temperatures. But you have to look at something, and most folks use the core temps as reported by real temp.

    @ishb3w:

You asked me what settings I have settled on. I haven't decided yet but, I think this might be my sweet spot after playing around a little but, haven't finalized my settings yet though. I noticed that Load Line Calibration gives me issues that is for sure. I also noticed that my temp sensors are freaking nuts as all get out and was thinking about getting a temp meter of some sort. I believe my temps to be 10c cooler then what it says in this pic. Also my vdroop is bad. I actually have it set to 1.42v BIOS here..

Can someone tell me something about HDD's. I'm using AHCI mode in BIOS with two HDD's. However in Device manager i get this...

Is it normal to have PIO Mode 4 and Multi-word DMA Mode 2 for SATA drives under AHCI mode? Back in days of IDE ATA drives this would be very very bad. But what does it mean for SATA drives?
Are you guys getting anything different under "Current mode" column? I'm kinda confused as this is the first actual native SATA board (965P-DS3 was some half baked AHCI thingie).

No mine are Ultra DMA Mode 5, I just enabled AHCI mode last week and don't know a whole bunch about it so I'm sorry I can't be more help. Perhaps you can make some changes in you Bios. I know I have some (very few however) options in mine.
    Good Luck.

Vektor, yeah, that what happens when you use IDE before that. Now set to AHCI, delete all detected IDE ATA channels and reboot. It will redetect them as ATA (without IDE unlike IDE ATA before) and apply these weird modes to them.

Could you post a pic of a driver used for ATA ?
Cause mine shows just like what Vektor claimed udma 5 I've tried deleting it several times but vista still finds the same driver.

Thanks for the tip, I'm about to reinstall with AHCI set from the get go. Unfortunately my version of Vista Ultimate is without SP1 integrated and I understand that before SP1 Vista didn't handle AHCI that well. I wish I could get my hands on an image of Vista Ultimate x64 w sp1 integrated, as I won this copy in a raffle (true story btw) Microsoft is treating me like a second class citizen and won't send me a new disc. I've attempted to do a slipstream
and will find out shortly if I was successful or not *crosses fingers* wish me luck :0
