Everyone else still have healthy boards?

    That sucks man
Refresh my memory, did u have any cooling for the NB? if not my guess is that
that might be the problem: 80C is just f$cked up,Asus should have done
something better then the little HS there.

i just threw the new bios on my m3a and i had the ht up to 270 with my 9500 with the cpu multi @8.5 LOL and i had to drop the nb multi down to 6 to get it to boot. Every bench i ran ended up either the same as , or a little better than all auto settings in bios. Still messing around with all the settings to see if there's some magic combination to get above 2.8 on air.

Yes it's a known problem with AHCI mode and SB600.Try installing Vista in IDE mode and then after it installs try to follow these instructions to get it to work in AHCI mode:

I'm using an Athlon II 620 one my M3A. I flashed the Bios 1108, everything works great, but I couldn't increase the Vcore over 1,3V?!
At the Jumper Free Configurations, I can set the Vcore about 1,6V, but the mainboard doesn't apply values over 1,3V
Anyone a clue how the values can be fixed?
BTW with a vcore of 1,3V I was able to overclock the CPU about 3,36Ghz (stock is 2,6Ghz)

I am using a Phenom II X3 720BE and here the vcore doesn't apply over 1.55V. Using BIOS 1008 now. Maybe you should try k10stat to raise this limit.

I tried already to raise the limit with k10stat, but it didn't worked. the vcore decreased to 1,248V when I increased the voltage with k10stat o.O

Hey guys, i read all the way through this but i am still quite confused. I have the m3a and also a phenom 9550 with a good air cooler. I increased the FSB to 222 and decreased my HT so that it came out the same. So that increased my phenom from 2.2 to 2.44 but it also increased my ram from 800 to 880. I can not for the life of me find how to divide the ram to make it run slower. I read somewhere... that its auto or something, but it is definitely increased. could some one help me out. thanks

There should be a setting for the memory dividers:
    1066/800/667/533/400
The default is auto - needs to be set to manual.
I'l take a look which subsection it's under -when I get back home
    (if I remember).
    ************************************************** ******
The voltage is limited to 1.275 in the BIOS -for the X2 250 (that's in it atm)
The AOD allows up to 1.375 for CPU and CPUnb so I set a lower multi in the
BIOS then boot up,run AOD increase the voltage, then increase the cpu multi.
    ************************************************** ******

Also one of the SETFSB version -supports HTT increase from windows.

ENABLE AHCI under VIsta Win 7

As long as you have the Southbridge and regular Mobo drivers installed do this.

To resolve this issue, enable the AHCI driver in the registry before you change the SATA mode of the boot drive. To do this, follow these steps:

    1.Exit all Windows-based programs.

2.Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

3.If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.

4.Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Msahci

5.In the right pane, right-click on the word (Start) in the Name column, and then click Modify.

6.In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.

7.On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor.

This will take about a few minutes to do.

Vista dosnt Load a AHCI drive 99% of the time. By doing the Above your Enabling the Driver. You will reboot when done with Regedit and in theBIOS Change your SATA to AHCI mode.

hey guys, i worked out the ram problem, instead of the other options you just press limit and then the ram will stay at whats it's supposed to be at. i have hit another snag, there is more then 1 voltage, there are voltages for the nb and sb. should i up all the voltages (apart from the ram) to the same voltage? or just up the cpu voltage?

I would keep the SB voltage at the minimum (~1.2v) or just one notch up,otherwise there is more heat and no performance gain.
