i had to test this method out myself and i got to say that its rocks.. its easy to ably and comes off without a trace ( usings tape to cover some places is essential though) anyways here are few pics of my Biostar Tpower

Looks "okay", Solarfall!
We have seen better yet. *hehehe* (*ducks and runs*)
I didn't even use tape on the socket, I put the stuff even in the small gaps at the cpu-"holddown".
I peeled the whole rubber-iso off and everything was gone off the mobo.
So, on the socket I don't know if you need to use masking tape.

well lat night I erasered the hell outa my board, no dielectric grease or anything and then slapped about 2 hrs worth of -55c to it and wham! no condensation looks like this is the way for mestill havin minor contact issues but nothing major.
no grease under eraser, with grease, it becomes b.ulls.hit
backplate+regular neoprene+mobo+eraser+regular neoprene is a good way...
So can you put at least a little bit of DE grease inside the cpu socket just in case (for 24/7 ss setup that I wont be checking anytime soon)...
I canīt find any pics in action... I was doing bench and my friends were taking photos so I have only pics they sent me today, no more... there were more computers cooled by ln2
an older benching with my friend + dice + Commando

i think you can use masking tape probably
BND mate any tape wil do, the one you have is fine. The neoprene are some pieces that i put behind the caps so i dont have to use the eraser on spots it wil be hard to clean:

Does anyone here know where I can pick up the kneaded eraser from in Australia?
I checked Lincraft (craft store) and they didnt have any. Does this look all right? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-Sanford-D...742.m153.l1262
Should doThink its the same TheGoat_Eater used, maybe ask him. Should be available closer to home though id guess

Since i did not find Kneaded Rubber s-h-i-t i used some stuff that once was used at wooden windows glasses to prevent air/cold getting in the room .

after removal, is the art eraser stuff reusable for another run?
Ryzen 9 3900X w/ NH-U14s on MSI X570 Unify
32 GB Patriot Viper Steel 3733 CL14 (1.51v)
RX 5700 XT w/ 2x 120mm fan mod (2 GHz)
Tons of NVMe & SATA SSDs
LG 27GL850 + Asus MG279Q
Meshify C white
Yup. You can continue to use it so long as you don't get it dirty with stuff like metal shavings![]()
Is it best to have the kneaded eraser approx the same height as the CPU?
Also, do you fill in the socket with anything or do you just put some tape on it and mold the eraser around it?
Thanks.
Thanks for posting. I am considering going DICE or LN2 later--in another thread I posted a CPU pot design. Anyways--I used to have some of this stuff. I think masking tape would be cheapest solution for barriers--so long as it doesn't have too much stick. Anyways--do you suggest layering or kneading together 2-4 packages of this stuff and rolling it flat? Anyways--is there any particular neoprene you need for the rest of the insulation? I think both can be had at just about any craft store, so just wondering.
