    Looks "okay" , Solarfall!
We have seen better yet. *hehehe* (*ducks and runs*)
I didn't even use tape on the socket, I put the stuff even in the small gaps at the cpu-"holddown".
I peeled the whole rubber-iso off and everything was gone off the mobo.
So, on the socket I don't know if you need to use masking tape.

heheh i know its not really a "nice looking job" but it worked and that's the main thing the stuff i used didn't come off so easily like yours

no grease under eraser, with grease, it becomes b.ulls.hit
    backplate+regular neoprene+mobo+eraser+regular neoprene is a good way...

So can you put at least a little bit of DE grease inside the cpu socket just in case (for 24/7 ss setup that I wont be checking anytime soon)...

Sure, it prevents CPU and pins (just inside the cpu socket)
On mobo surface, eraser and grease couldn't be together, no way!

Palee02: Good job, show us some pics on action! (both NB and CPU pots pls)

BND mate any tape wil do, the one you have is fine. The neoprene are some pieces that i put behind the caps so i dont have to use the eraser on spots it wil be hard to clean:

Yup. You can continue to use it so long as you don't get it dirty with stuff like metal shavings

Is it best to have the kneaded eraser approx the same height as the CPU?

Also, do you fill in the socket with anything or do you just put some tape on it and mold the eraser around it?

    Thanks.

Thanks for posting. I am considering going DICE or LN2 later--in another thread I posted a CPU pot design. Anyways--I used to have some of this stuff. I think masking tape would be cheapest solution for barriers--so long as it doesn't have too much stick. Anyways--do you suggest layering or kneading together 2-4 packages of this stuff and rolling it flat? Anyways--is there any particular neoprene you need for the rest of the insulation? I think both can be had at just about any craft store, so just wondering.
