Could I just cool the SB passively to evade those problems (I've got this little bugger still around to glue on)? Also, does any of you know if there is a heatsink available for the mosfets by now? I really would like to wc the NB only if possible...

Subscribing so i can keep an eye on this. I have a 750i ftw that i'd like to watercool, but cant seem to find a mosfet/sb cooler either.

You have the old version. EK Fixed this by sanding down the corners. Email EK and ask for a RMA.

Once i get home i'll take some pic's EK Fixed that issue, however, you can fix it also if you dont want to wait. Just DONT USE that nut.

Guys i even have the ENZO Mosfet so i'll take a picture of that for you guys as well.

thanks naekuh, u have this board by chance? I haven't seen anyone fit this board with any kind of aftermarket MOSFET cooling(without throwing the 680i block on a copper plate ). I also wana make sure that enzo is gonna fit the sb

    i have the 780i.

i was telling the other dude, i would show him how EK revised it.

I have no idea on the 750FTW. Honestly, i think my 780i is cherry, because i really dont like nvidia.

I can guarentee the regular enzo sb, not the waterblock, but the AIR block will fit. Thats the only option i have right now as my 9800GX2 on that system covers almost the entire area.

Once again when i get home i'll post pics.

    Enzo mosfet cooler:

Thanks for the pic NaeKuh, the only thing i'm worried about is that "thing" that Eddie pointed out, will it clear that?

i u usually tell people not to watercool the SB, however on nvidia i make an exception.

The stupid Nvidia chipsets are rediculously hot.
The mosfets run at 38C. Sometimes higher depending on ambients. The entire board puts out more heat then a quadcore overclocked.

However i cant find a SB block that will work. My only hope and wish in bitspower, however my patience with them is almost out, and i might ditch this project all together and start reworking Eva-Chan.

Thats my Neha, i7 965 rig btw.

And yes im still ahead 6 months then you guys are.

This is all i can tease you guys with, so sorry, and no i cant give ya guys more without getting a good ranting from my sponsor.

Yeah these boards are crazy hot, and this will be the last time I use an Nvidia chipset. They are such a crapshoot. The board I have is absolute crap, I'm thinking about RMAing it, only problem is I chopped up the stock cooling for the mosfets lol. I've tryed every combo I could think of with my Q6700, but I can't get ANYTHING stable above 350 FSB. I guess it could be the CPU, but I've even tryed low multi's with FSB 360+ and it never gets stable. 450x8 is the only thing i've found that will boot into windows, but locks up during linpack every time. Voltage dosn't matter, i've tryed every combo. Anyways, enough ranting about my more than crappy, crap hardware, I can't wait to get some updates on Eva-Chan.

Big friggin ditto! My monitor ended up dying while I was trying to get a Q6600 from a good batch to stabilze at 3.6ghz (400FSB) and no way in hell was it possible no matter what extreme voltage I fed into EVERYTHING. When the monitor died I thought it was the board frying and I was actually kinda happy cause then I planned to switch to a x38/x48 and just do crossfire. But since its the monitor, I'll rough it out for a bit longer.

But man.. yeah.. done with EVERYTHING nvidia. But chipsets especially.

4.2 stable under Vista, 4.5 stable under XP on an E8500

Now if I can figure out:
    Stop: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000 0xFFFFFA80099A8030 0x00000000B2000040 0x0000000000000800)

    I will be a happy 750i owner.

i wont complain about the 780i and overclocking.

As you guys can see, ive pulled a fsb of 470 stable on a quadcore without the need for suicide voltages.

And she currently holds a quadcore under load @ these settings:

    Nice

My next chip will be quad, it's time to take the leap.

Looking good NaeKuh. Well my 350FSB decided it didn't want to be stable any more. Last week it passed 40 rounds of linpack using 2.5Gb of memory..... now it just locks on the first round... bluescreens.... yay....

Down to 333 FSB now... wonder if it'll hold.

that chip is not a QX.

    its freya, a Q9650.

    Sakura is the QX.

i have all platforms of the 9650 series, from the QX -> Q -> X3370

    isnt it pretty?

Also why im labeled as scary when it comes to hardware on this forum.
