The FB-->GND default resistance is ~44,4k ohm !!!
I just did the Vcore mod. I used 200k VR!
    Resistance changed 44,4k -> 36,5k and "def" Vcore rised 0,011V !!!
50k VR is overkill, I even wouldn't recommend 100k VR. Use 200k or 250k VR for Vcore mod.

I used the same wire which I had already soldered for Vdroop mod:
    http://ceemic.pri.ee/hardware/tpower/tpower_mod03.jpg
I just applied 200k VR to the extra PCB
I have switches also, so for 24/7 I don't use Vcore mod

Little helping picture for moding. FB and VDIFF traces shown:
    http://ceemic.pri.ee/hardware/tpower/tpower20_mod.JPG
The resistor that controls Vdroop can be "pencil moded" also, AFAIK

    Good luck everyone!

philbrown23, have You removed the resistor and is Your board alive? 50k VR rised Vcore too rapidly I quess and therefore it didn't post...

I had +0,05V in BIOS - 1,276V real. After Vcore mod 1,287V. Haven't tried it with lower Vcore, because it's pointless
I only did it for better adjustment for sub-zero cooling and higher voltages. 24/7 it's OFF.

Probably it will affect linearly every selected Vcore value in BIOS by ~0,01V. So the lowest Vcore rises +0,01V.

With this I can't help You. Here in Estonia, I can buy 200k and 250k also. Prices are ~1$ per one

well I got my vdroop mod all set to be soldered on. as far as the vcore mod I guess ima have to wait till I can fin at least 200k. the place nate dogg linked to has some 200k's but I'll have to wait till I can order at least 55.00 worth of resistors.

In these pics, those smd grabbers look like theyre easier to use than soldering... but is it safe? effective?

If so anyone have a link to some good grabber like those?

If you use 50k VR, the max resistance is 23,5k and that's might be deadly

I would even recommend 500k VR - max you should get is 40,8k.

    Thank's Ceemic (again)

well I grabbed some 200k's and I'ma do up a few vmods tonight, those smd grabbers are good for measurements but I cant get them to grab the legs for the actual vmods, even with the smallest I could find, oh yeah they sell them at radioshack.

DonNiger, ~250k VR + switch is better than 500k VR. First, You can switch the Vcore mod off for 24/7, so it won't be dangerous. Second, 500k VR will have too rapid end to do some decent fine-tuning in higher Vcore (You'll have to adjust it too much to get some higher Vcore and these VR's aren't linear in the end). 200k VR rised Vcore only 0,011V, so it's not dangerous

this is the one i mean. why? why not ? because, the settings are too much different between +0.025 and - 0.05 its a range 0.075. why there is no +- 0 ? or an standart fix vcore? normally my e8600 runs 4ghz@1,091, but with the possible settings in bios i cant run this optimum. because, with -0.05 im without last at 1,088 an with + 0.025 im a little too high. or was it -0.025 and + 0.05? i dont know, but the jump is to high. i need a little between this settings an maybe with pencil it will run stable with 1,088 because at prime it go down to 1,07x

I tried Vdimm mod and it works grate. But before you do it, please delete your OC profiles or at least, change DDR voltage back to default. I'll tell you later on why.
    Mod:
Mem read points. That is the first try, I used too big VR

That's my final - ofcorse, you can use switch and a 1K3 resistor aswell for 2,0 startup or 600R for 2,35 startup.

And now the reason of deletion.
I set 2,3v for startup (minimum for my OCZ sticks), vent into BIOS and loaded my max profile. But there was set to add + 0,750v for DDR. So, F10 and multimeter showed me 3 - 3,2v for some time. That floating is not because of the vmod - voltage floats even with def settings from 1,8 to 2,0. Sounds like it has been set to find the minimum voltage for memory.

And now those sticks are in a freezer

After doing the mod, I did clear Cmos - so first startup was auto. Later, I set it +0,05.

And I made a little mistake. With my setup (1K VR + 270R), the maximum bootup is 2,35v (turning the VR to 0). SO, it is pretty safe mod.

I'll probably do the mod today and will use only 1k VR
