So, I now have my MF up and running with RF Bios 410. I haven't tweaked it yet, but so far I am stable at 4.16Ghz, 416x10, which I could not do on my Blitz, so very pleased so far. Now I just need to find someone's settings with a QX9650 so I can understand what does what as the bios settings are different than the Blitz. Hopefully I can push my chip to 4.5Ghz, but we will see.

It does terrible. It's not stable and it hits temps of 80 degrees. Mind you this is with a CPU only loop with a PA120.3 3 yate lows(or high's I tried both) and a DDC with petras top.

You may want to try reseating that block, I never hit that high on my Q6600 when I had it and that was at 1.56v vcore. I was using a MCR220, MCP355 with Petra top and D-Tek Fuzion at the time. Highest I hit was 62c with ambients at 28c.

That's strange. I never hit those temps on air with my TRUE.

That's a serious LC loop there.

How's the mounting? Is your Fuzion nozzled? How are the innards on the block?

I had a 425 FSB limit on X38 Maximus with my Q9550, so lets try to rule out the FSB limit first

I have nozzles just not in the block . The chip has reacted like this ever since I got it. The block has been mounted so many times with so many different TIMs. I've been trying to read up on FSBT and vPLL and what not but I have no idea how those affect the quads at high values. Been trying to figure it out by trial and error and I haven't gotten any kind of pattern going.

Quick question, FSBT is VTT correct? Also, what is SB2?

They won't hurt it as much as the rumours say. Most of the scare has been around 45nm parts, though Benchzowner has been running several 45nm chips at ridiculously high PLL and VTT for over a month now with no noticeable effects.

I suggest putting in the quad nozzle on your Fuzion.

It's in the pipeline...just found and bought an ancient Chieftec Dragon Full Tower to build my water cooling into. Should be fun! I want 2x 3x120mm Rads, a Peltier cooled Res' (which optional off switch) and copper piping around the edge of the case instead of tubing all over it...

It should look rather nice once it's finished!

The stock nozzle is actually better than the quad nozzle, according to many reviews on the net, and in my own experience. I have a quad nozzle sitting here, seeing no action.

On the Fuzion V2 that is correct.

But on the V1, the quad nozzle is better.

Can i get a list of the settings like how Zucker2k did in post 7064

Thanks - keep going - looks like you have a nice board......and a better chip
What fan setup you got on your TRUE? and what prime temps were you getting at 4.5ghz?
Can i get a picture please.

I'll have to do a bios layout tomorrow. I'm not running @ 4.5GHz on the Quad. It maxes out about 3.85GHz on air.

Basic bios layout for 515MHz FSB are 1.65v vNB, 1.6v vPLL, 1.5v vFSBT, Transaction Booster @ Stronger, PL10 (might be 9 atm... ). Everything else is stock/auto right now.

On the TRUE I have 2x 120mm Sharkoon Silent Eagle 75cfm fans in a push/pull setup.

sorry for the noobie post, but i was wondering why the "FSB Strap to North Bridge-setting" does not let me adjust the Rated FSB speed.
The setting "DRAM Frequency: DDR2- XXX" is not letting me clock the mem slow enough, i have ddr2 6400 ocz, will max about 860Mhz...

This gives me the problem that i cannot oc my e8400 on my Maximus Formula anymore without getting faster RAM, is this correct?
(3.870Mhz, +-1780Mhz Rated FSB, 860Mhz mem, stable voltages all on auto, tested 4 hours orthos small FFT's)

Why is the Rated FSB getting so high?

The setting "DRAM Frequency: DDR2- XXX" is not letting me clock the mem slow enough, i have ddr2 6400 ocz, will max about 860Mhz...

This gives me the problem that i cannot oc my e8400 on my Maximus Formula anymore without getting faster RAM, is this correct?
(3.870Mhz, +-1780Mhz Rated FSB, 860Mhz mem, stable voltages all on auto, tested 4 hours orthos small FFT's)

Why is the Rated FSB getting so high?
The strap and the actual FSB are different.

The FSB determines your FSB and DDR rate, while the FSB Strap determines your divider.

You need to set the FSB manually to whatever value you like (I guess somewhere around 400 for 800MHz RAM). Then on the 333 or 400 strap, you can run the RAM at 1:1 to get 800MHz DDR2 and 1600 FSB

The lowest ratio offered is 1:1. You can't clock the RAM lower than that. So for your RAM, you might be able to get DDR2 900 and have your CPU run at 450 x 9 on the 333 or 400 strap on the1:1 divider.

Easiest way is to set Auto for strap and you'll have all available dividers/ram frequencies.

Thanks! This is clear, i just need 1066Mhz mem to oc to 4.5Ghz+.

But still, why is the Rated FSB so much more then 1333Mhz?
Do i have to divide the rated FSB from CPUZ in 2?

Most people have it at +-2200Mhz? I still dont understand that.

    Hoping to hit 4+Ghz today

    for 2200Mhz Bus u got: 2200/4 = FSB (550Mhz)

so if u use FSB strap at 400Mhz and set the DDR at lowest option 1:1 u will got an 400 Mhz strap + manually increased 150Mhz = 550Mhz coupled w/ 1100Mhz DDR (FSB x 2) Double data Rate (DDR)

It's all based off the bus speed.
Then the RAM works on a divider of that multiplied by 2 and the FSB is 4x that.

    So

    400 FSB
    Ram ratio of 4:5 = 500 = DDR21000
    400 x 4 = 1600 FSB
