Trust me, windows are wide open. But the closet is kind of far away from window, opposite side of the room.

I'm working on finding something. None of the other systems have any issues with a little more heat but that old tbred always ran warm. Going to try rigging something up with fans to flush the heat away better, but the noise is getting quite high. Fold7 is open air on the shelf of the closet and is easily the noisiest of the 7 systems.

when I was at the beach last week, my house overheated from no ac while the pc's were crunching and all 3 in my office shut down from overheats... I made a quick run home for crap I forgot to take to the beach house. turned the ac on and restarted everything.. was hoping they'd survive without ac since the temps weren't that bad outside, but it backfired on me..

good luck, that's the only suggestion I have to, is try to get that heat vented out of the room somehow so it's doesn't build up and insulate itself. otherwise may need to just shut down or fold at night until the weather turns colder or the ac comes back on.

I was thinking.... You guys have elctricity, but no air conditioning, right?

    GO BUY AN AIR CONDITIONER!

Just rig an air tunnel to the close from the window. Just don't get caught. Or you can get a unit that sits in the room with an air duct that sits in the window which is less obvious.

Holy crap! You have 7 rigs in a closet? That's dedication! I have 7 split between 2 rooms. The CPUs all have good coolers. The A/C only comes on if it goes over 95F.

Well here is what I did to try and combat the heat that builds up in the top of the closet. Uber ghetto but hey it seems to be doing something, they are definitely blowing heat out of there zipties FTW.
Now to see whether they are keeping temps low enough or not.

HAHA! that's awesome! I've thought about that, i can setup another rig on the other side of both desks that have PCs. Stick a bunch in the closet, a bunch in my brothers old room.....stick one in the kitchen even but i'll get kicked out once the electric bill comes

    Hey... it's working
CPU temps hovering around 53-54 now, instead of climbing up up up to whatever it was that was burning fingers and freezing the system. Let's hope this is the fix

I just got a new set-up going with a 8800gt and vista 32 bit. Using driver 177.84, and my ppd is way higher than with my other 8800gt with the same clocks. Using vista 64 bit and driver 177.35. Can't believe that the newer driver makes that much difference. Check out this. 1:11 per frame. It's 1:21 on my other rig.

That's what I dont get. Clocks are the same between the two cards. 675/1783/1900 It's slowed a little now, 1:12-1:13 per frame. I'm re-doing my other rig and I'm going to have 2 8800gt's running with vista 64.

EDIT: Grabbed a shot with a new wu and EVGA Precision Times jump around a little from surfing and listening to music.

    Nice !

Here is what I did last few times doing laundry:
instead of putting it in the drier I hang it on top of my 3 (2 now) PC's,with the
curtains (in place already) few hours later - nice and dry
    Talk about savings
I'll take some pictures next time around.
    I should patent it maybe

To maximize out put you only really need to oc the shaders. The core and mem have little effect on ppd. Play with the shaders till you start to get EUEs then back them down. Its the only real way to find the max clocks of the card.

+1 for Thunderduck. that's how I do mine too.
leave core and ram on stock settings.
start the client and fahmon to monitor it.
then start sliding the shaders forward one hop at a time and let it fold for about 4-5 steps.
if it doesn't eue, move to the next hop up (usually about 50mhz).
when it gets too high, the client will eue. then back it down 2 hops and let it fold.

I use precision tool for mine because it's simple and easy. here's a copy if you want it http://www.scootplace.net/fah/EVGA_P...etup_1.1.1.exe
