I'd also memtest86 it, cpu stability isn't the only overclocking concern.

With the new 0605 Bios on P5E3 Premium I am now able to break my 495FSB wall. I am currently testing 507FSB and will post some results once I'm done. Here are some shots at 503-505FSB with memory running at 1617Mhz and 2016Mhz:

Give it a try, my guess is that you need slightly more then 1.3 VCore in your bios and just leave the rest of the settings the same as now.

do you guys recommend to upgrade from a Q6600 to an Q9550?

Or is it better to wait for the mainstream intel nehalem?
    does nehalem support ddr2?

no ddr2 for nehalem. IMO unless you go to q9650 your not gonna get the high clocks to make the jump worth it in the long run.

Thanks, I'll stay with the Q6600,then will wait a bit longer to see if prices will drop for the Q9650.

Nah, I've tried. I can't boot in to windows above 440 FSB, it was the same with my Q6600. Anything above 430 FSB (even with low multi) gets squirrelly. At 425, I had random lockups even with 1.375 Vcore and 29 hours of prime.

Hard to tell since every chip is different, but I had my GTLs set to 72 at 3.8ghz for my Q9450 in the IP35 Pro.

But it's a case of trial and error.

Dam just found this thread after posting a new one.

Hello crew, wanted to get some input/thoughts on these settings so far. Dont think i'm going to push it any further due to the fact 3.6 requires volts of 1.33 to get stable, as well as, push it to ~72C on the hottest core running IBT

    CPU: Q9450 @ 3.4 ; MB: Asus P5E Deluxe
    Vendetta 2 w/ Scythe DFS123812-2000 @ 1500rpm

NB Voltage: 1.250 (Lowest setting on MB)

    DRAM @ 850 1:1
    DRAM Voltage: 1.80
    DRAM Timing: Manual (5-5-5-15)

    Prime95 Small FFT x4: 24hours stable

Max temp after 24hours Prime95 Small: 61.57.59.59 (90% of the time it held at 58.54.56.56)

Max temp after 4 hours IBT: 65.65.65.65 (first time all cores were the same) (Most of the time it was between 64.62.63.63 - 65.64.64.64)

I don't see any problem in going to 3.6ghz at 1.33v and 72c. Tho you won't really notice the difference between 3.4ghz and 3.6ghz tbh.

Have you tried loweing your vcore for 3.4 a little more? I agree 3.6 is hard to achieve, alot more tricky than 3.4.

She Folds 24/7 @ 3.9ghz and about 1.41v. The extra 100mhz for 4ghz isn't worth pushing so far over 1.4v.

She benchmarks at up to 4050mhz

I run a Asus Striker2-NSE with the 790i , took a bit of play but had it running stable at just under 4gig , the temps were amazing low 30's on water. Scored 19854 in Futuremark '06 on 9800GTX in SLi config' much better chipset than the previous offering from Nvidia.
