    AN50R V-mod question

    i attempted to do the vmod by soldering a wire with a TEK SMC clip to the resistor and using a wire with a spade end placed under a mounting screw to ground it, but when turn on the power supply i only get the green Power light not the amber vdimm light, so i never turn it on because i figure something is shorting out. This is the smallest SM clip i've ever used and i don't know if smaller ones even exist, so is the clip just too big or does the vdimm light never come on after the mod is done? any suggestions? i don't have a solder station, so i don't think i can do the mod without using a clip.
    I used to have links here demonstrating how awesome I am, but it's been so long that they're not very relevant (and the pictures have disappeared), so I guess I'll have to get working on new stuff.

    Make sure you have it on the right pin. I went by quad damag'e pic's at 3dmaxx.net. They were wrong and I got the same thing...no amber light, no boot. You should be on the second pin from the left(6) on the bottom row looking at the mobo rightside up. Pin (7) is the third leg over, and of course the wrong one.

    wow, that's a relief, i was beginning to think i wouldn't be able to v-mod this bh-5... about the core mod, you use a 20k VR, but the vr-zone guide says 10k (IIRC) and i bought a 10k for it already, so do i need to go get a 20k instead?

    Does someone know where the measure point is for the Vdimm on the AN50R?

    yay, v-mod success. tops right now 1:1 is 257 2-2-2-5 on 3.2v. i'll do some benching and then give it 3.4 and see how that goes.

    hi mickey! i've just a question....
    i've noticed that giga and shuttle have the same chip for the vcore mod... this is the ISL6559CB.
    why, if you ask the vcore mod for the giga, they tell you to put a 100k VR on the pin10 and for the same mod on the same chip on a shuttle, they tell you to put a 20k VR?
    isn't some strange?

    should not it be equal for both the mobos?

    let me know...

    thanks

    Alex

    not so responsive above 3.2v, 266 1:1 2-2-2-5 3.4v is my best so far... just about 4mhz until i get something i can work with (think 270x9 1:1 3dmark)...
