the screws would work but to make them completly flush I would have to countersunk each hole. Because it's sheetmetal there's not a whole lot of thickness to countersink. The threaded inserts are pressed into the metal making them very flush and really strong. Remember these are Rev.1 pieces so I will take all feedback seriously for future revisions.

What are those extra holes for anyway?

Anyway, maybe you can leave the 8 middle holes as is (not countersunk) and just include washers and longer screws for the corners, so bolt heads can clear the fan. Flexibility is nice, we can apply locktite ourselves if we're really worried about nuts coming loose. Should help you cut costs as well by skipping the threaded inserts.

The extra holes are cosmetic, however they are spaced the same as the mounting holes. I tried a washer to space it out but rejected that idea based on the amount of effort required to mount the bracket and the washers. I'm not ruling it out but I feel there is a better way to achieve what I want to do.

I agree that flexibility would be nice. Both the Absolute and the 3G brackets have multiple holes to mount to so that is where you can play around with positioning. I did test with both a D5 and a DDC and the positioning was right on.

I see now that people might want to use this to mount other things to so I will take all feedback and see what I can come up with.

Keep your suggestions coming I really do appreciate it. You guys are my customers so I really want to hear from you.
