    8RDA+ rev2.1 how good?

    Hi guys!

I just found out that i could get a Epox 8RDA+ rev2.1 for a very cheap price...

So my question is, how is this board? any experience with it? Is it good for high FSB? Known issues? and so on...

I can see that it is able of a vdd of 2v and vdimm 2.9v and able to handle a vcore of 2.2v.. So i think it might be good for high FSB

Also Im gonna use Twinmos PC3200 CH-5 chips, does anybody know how this board are with this memory? Cause i had a friend tried em in his Epox 8RDA+ rev1.x and it did´nt even post

    So ehh.. Cheers Guys

the 2.2 Vcore is pretty worthless...cuz it has overvolt protection...limiting you to 1.87v. There's a fix for rev 1x boards, but I don't think there's any for rev2s.

otherwise, it's a great board and i see your barton only needs 1.78v for 2.4ghz

Yeah, my barton is perfectly stable at that speed, but im only running a FSB of 200MHz because it wont get any higher, and i tried everything!! That is the reason why i need a new one.. So how about the FSB, how high will that go, you think, and does my memory fit the board?

isnt over volt protection suposed to set in compared to the default cpu voltage? not just 1.87v...

would the overvolt protection kick in sooner if the cpu had a default voltage of 1.5v aka dlt3c?

Before i applied the vcore fix to my 8rda+, the overvolt protection limited both my 2500+ and 1800+ dlt to 1.87v. So i guess it's just up to 1.87v. Maybe Holst can answer that better.

So how about the FSB, how high will that go, you think, and does my memory fit the board?
Most rev2s do 230 - 240fsb....epox boards tend to get unstable when they're nearing 250...no matter how much vdd.

A little last question to drisler: Was the 230-240FSB easy to get, or did you work hard for it? And how will it do with CH-5?
