Looks good but we are going to need taller boards so we can have more PCI-e slots with space for better cooling.

I thought the chip wasnt required since they are licensing it in software?

hmmm for me it would be back as well
kinda useless for benching unless they have some kinda external console

Either way I don't think you're going to be hurting for memory at 12GB.

    Oh, my next motherboard

The only thing i dont like is the pci-e 8x-8x when 3 slots are used - I would have preferred 16x-16x-4x

TweaKit is on the wrong side of the board, other than that it looks killer.

    Thanks for the preview Sampsa.

that is the best it can do without using an extra chipset for more PCI-E lanes.

but 32 lanes should be enough for the majority of users, probably not for XS though

I usually have the I/O ports facing me and the power connector furthest away from me so that all ports face forward.

In fairness it's a matter of personal preference and setup really. Would be cool if it was removable or on an extension cable or the likes

That's one of the most unspectacular designs ever. When I think Rampage, I think explosions and naked babes riding on a dragon with Chuck Norris chanting heroic anthems in the background.

Will be a good board though, one of those boards which one should be able to rely on.

I don't think ASUS would sell too many if the price is in the $600.00 range. Let's hope this is a "merry" Christmas and they keep the price reasonable!

    its deff eatx
but the pcie slot spacing for crossfire unlike sli have never spanned 3 slots.
for cfx if its a hybrid sli/cfx board i see sli being slots 1-2-3 and 1-3, but I
see cfx being slots 1-2 or 1-2-3 not 1-3 so that leaves 4870x2 right up against another card. thats only thing I see that could be fixed

as for the flashy cooling this is not final retail board so cooling will change

heavily depends on what country we are talking about, in the uk it will no doubt be 600$+, but in the usa probably more like 300 - 350$ if even that much.

This is just a early ES without the thermal solution. The NB cooler on it just for testing.

The final product will have the same kind of thermal solution and look as we are used to
