hey guys what case do you recommend for striker2 to solve the nb overheating problem a little ??

Cooler Master RC-1000-KSN1-GP , Thermaltake ARMOR+ VH6001BWS ESA seems to be the best ones

is there anyone using one of those cases ??

I was think if you were going to pull of the heatpipesystem to put on new "tim" or paste, you might as well take som pics
I'm going for watercooling on NB and SB, I found this very cool AquaComputer waterblock, wich solves my issues regrading the usage of 2 x 9800GTX aircooled... Normal SB waterblocks for Striker II have threads for the hose connectors in a wery bad location for SLI, unless you are watercooling your gfx'es as well.
    It this one:

AquaComputer sb/nb block - Im awating the arrival, just 1 week more to wait

Anyone knows how to fix the incredibly slow reading from a usb stick when installing vista from a usb stick ? takes like 5 mins at the first loading screen.

lol I didn't even know that that was possible... isn't it better to install from DVD?

Cool Asus S2F DET DRAM Error

Hello all! I just got an Asus S2F and spent 2 days getting it to work somewhat and I have a couple of things that are happening that I am hoping someone can help me with. I am new to overclocking so sorry I ask some simple questions.

    System Details:
ASUS Striker II Formula / nVidia 780i
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 / 2.83 GHz / 12M / 1333FSB / Rev 05A (Watercooled)
    Corsair Dominator TWIN2X2048-8500C5D (2x2Gb) 1066MHz
    XFX NVIDIA GTX280 XXX Edition
    Seagate 500GB 7200.11 32MB
    Zalman ZM600-HP PSU
    Windows Vista 64bit

    1) When I boot the system, the LCD Poster Stops on DET DRAM and the system speaker is a constant beep. If I press reset, it reboots, posts, and then stops at the BIOS screen saying that it had failed to boot, F1 to continue, DEL for setup. If I press F1 it boots to Windows and seems OK. I am running TWIN2X2048-8500C5D (2x2GB) memory. Any clues to what I could do to resolve this issue?

    2) In the BIOS I have it everything overclocked. I had to just to get the thing to boot normal. I was getting CODEINIT errors at first and it did nothing if you pushed the reset button. According to the BIOS I am running overclocked, but according to everything in Windows Vista, including CPU-Z, MemSet, and ASUS AI Suite everything is running at stock speeds... In the BIOS on the overclocking page and also after POST it says CPU Speed 4.03GHz... Everything in windows still says 2.83GHz...

I have the BIOS settings set to the following:

    BIOS 1602

    AI Overclock Tuner: Manual
FSB - Memory Clock Mode: Unlinked
    FSB (QDR), MHz:1900
    MEM (DDR), MHz:1333
    Memory Timings: 5-5-5-15-2T
    All Spread Spectrum Controls DISABLED
    CPU Internal Themal Control: Auto
    Limit CPUID MaxVal: Enabled
    Enhanced C1 (C1E): Disabled
    CPU C State Capability: Disabled
    Execute Disable Bit: Enabled
    Virtualization Technology: Enabled
CPU Multiplier: 8.5 (Max available setting)
    Enhanced Intel SpeedStep: Enabled
    HT Technology: Enabled
    LDT Frequency: 5x

    All voltages on auto except:
    Memory Voltage: 2.1V
    NB Voltage: 1.4V

    Loadline Calibration: Enabled
    NVIDIA GPU Exisabled
    SLI-Ready Memory: Disabled

Why does it not show the overclocked speed in anything inside of windows? Is it not really being overclocked?

Thanks again for all of your help!!

i want to get thermalright HR-05 for nb,sb and mofset
but in the product's site it is said that SB 200 chip will not be covered, should i just buy nb and mofset products and keep my sb coolers default ? or what do you recommend ?

Does anyone know which cooler this is, because I cannot find it on the net :/

Oh and to the person who PM'd me on XS before my vacation, I lost your email, sorry, so if you still want pictures PM me again.

@janjan: click the link in my post, Molotov uses HR-05 IFXs on both the nb&sb. Just wondering which mosfet cooler he uses. Don't think a HR-09 U/S will fit for me since I use the TRUE 120 vertically.

Aww... I finally recived my new nb/sb waterblock, it looks awsome! I shot a few pics, here goes:

Gonna install it as soon I get some fooling for the mosfet's Enjoy! As far as I know this is the only waterblock out there that allows the use of sli og tri sli without watercooling the gfx'es.

    EDIT: It's aquacomputer ...

    Arrow disappointing

I'm afraid you're gonna be disappointed.

First of all, you will have GREAT difficulty fitting the Aquacomputer waterblock without cutting off the first latch keeping the videocard in place, see first photo.

Second of all, you will have to remove the L-shaped piece of the videocard, which is kept in place by that latch, it has no copper traces so the videocard would probably still work 100% but you can forget any RMA... you simply can't fit a videocard in the first PCIE 16x slot because the card will "stand" on the waterblock... see second photo.

I ordered this block as well but ended up NOT installing it because of that.
I had 2 options, replace the stock TIM and live with higher SB temps than with water, or buying 2 EK blocks or something like that... I chose to replace the TIM on the stock cooling which gave me 3c better NB temps and 10c better SB temps (even though the guy who owned the board first already applied Ceramique on the blocks)
I must say I have watercooling and there's an 80mm fan hangin on the bottom 2 threads of the cpu waterblock, so right in front of the NB and I guess that is quite helpful

Well I figured that I had to remove the plastic latch from the first PCI-E slot, but I did not think of the L shapoed PCB.. Hmm.. Wel I'll settle for this block and mod one of my two 9800GTS'X's. "Luckally" I spilled a few drops of blue feser liguid on one of it's paper stickers so RMA is probbaly viod anyway

The only negative issue that remains is that I will have to watch out that the modded gfx does not slide out of it's slot when moving the pc.

Soon it will be DREMEL time for the puny little GFX

Just make sure you're careful or you'll have a $200 keyring

On a sidenote, been using 1602 for a while now, no issues as far as I know, nice bios

Any pics of your setup Henrik, pikspiller?
