just dropped by to post that this is the memory im using to get 4.9ghz

    runs fine @ 2.4v DDR1333
Very nice work with that ram mate, and excellent clock on the cpu too. That board is awesome. I have seen some other great results with it too.

I don't know what has happened to this place, you post a high clock with screenies as proof and it gets called fake, you post a high ram clock and people try to shoot it down and say they can do better bandwidth with lower latency at a lower speed and lower CL, as if that's the point. This place is turning into [H]ard forum.

LOL check the irony mate. I said either it is fake or gigabyte made a good board. Since I don't have that much faith on Gigabyte, I said it must be fake!
Of course it could be true, but I just don't beleive it. I am sorry if you guys keep believing in everything you see here on XS... That is your problem, not mine.

People run QX9650 on LN2 to be able to get a screen @ 5.9 - 6GHz with it.
You said you are on air and you are reaching 4.9GHz with it.
Again, it could be very true, but I have my right to doubt it. Respect that.

On water (cold water), that result sounds much more realistic. But again, you said you did it on air with a IFX-14.
Again don't get me wrong, I will say it again, it could be true, but I am on my right to doubt it. Respect that.

Another point is your temps... You posted a 4.5GHz prime blend running at ~50c temps... That is also some miracle temps for a quad @ 4.5GHz aircooled....
Dual core guys can't get temps like that aircooled @ 4.5GHz, how come you can with a quad that has 2x the heat?

Some one should do the math @ the heat dissipation for your quad @ 4.5GHz and your Vcore, and you will see those temps are impossible for air.

    Another point.

E8600 needs 1.55 Vcore to post @ 4.8GHz with only 1 core enabled.
Your Q9650 is posting 4.9GHz with 1.53 Vcore with 4 cores enabled.

I will say it again, it could be true, but I am on my right of not believing it.
Even the Vcore thingy I can buy, because you might have a miracle chip there... but your temps for aircooling I don't buy. Looks more like cold water to me.

Let's not forget about the 545FSB on that quad... You are just full of miracles aren't you?

Well the DFI board came today, and...it doesn't seem to like much of my D9 either. I've read that the 266/800 2:3 divider doesn't work so hot on the board. Meanwhile I got my Dominator 10000 kit running on my Maximus Formula at 600MHz CAS5 with only 2.00V set in BIOS (=2.05V real)
