Yay CPU passed 5hr Orthos at 500x8 1.36v too (load-> 1.34v)! Man that's a huge improvement comparing to the abit board which needed 1.395~1.4v for this clock. wonder how low I can go really but I'm prolly gonna push it a little more instead.

This is the best config I could get the ram to at DDR2-1000 cl4 2.21v which also blows the abit and dfi board out of water and is almost same config as my Team Xtreem ram was capable of, still not bad for a 51 EUR kit though. Maybe I'll check if it can do DDR2-1200 but I doubt it. Need to order the Cellshock 1000 CL4 kit now if I'm gonna push cpu a little further I could run 4-4-4-x at a little above 500MHz speeds or 600+ cl5.

I'll be damned, the kit did boot up just fine at DDR2-1200 at 2.21v with the very slacky timings I put and so far memtest has run without any errors. The performance is significantly worse at this config as expected but I'll see if it can beat the CL4 config that had been damn sweet. Gigabyte + Cellshock the pwn, remember, this is only the 51 EUR PC2-6400 4-4-4-12 D9GMH kit.

EDIT: Now we start talking, this isn't the best possible config yet, just a stability test stop-gap. Too bad the latency shoot up slightly, will see if I can get it to around 50 at least.

    ***** UPDATE *****

Wasn't able to get the latency much better since PL7 won't work at this config and PL affects latency quite a lot. But yeh I'm still very satisfied what this cheap kit is able to provide. I might be able to go even slightly lower on some settings like tRFC, tRRD, tRDWR, tRTP etc but I'm satisfied like this and it has run 20mins memtest stable so far, will check longer another time.

Well different kits clocks differently, with my Team Xtreem I ran at 25 at 1000 cas 4 and at 22 - 23 for a while but this kit won't do it but maybe 30.

EDIT: Yep I think 30 is fine.

Can't decide whatever or not to order the 1000 CL4 kit now, I already got good enough speeds that satisfy the 24/7 setting. But the fact that they cost only 63 EUR for among the very best kits it's hard to refuse. But then again it's more fun to have a PC2-6400 kit that runs at DDR2-1200 than having a kit that runs nearly at it's rated speed too.

You should be able to drop the PL and some of those timings, your read should be a little higher than mine here (in screenie) as you have a P35 whereas mine is P45. You must be really happy that you can finally have some fun clocking ram now

It wasn't locked with a modded bios that allowed you to adjust it. Basicly comp wouldn't boot at PL6 and was unstable at PL7 with that kit on that board. And like I've said several times Abit IP35 Pro doesn't seem to like Cellshocks kits at all after testing 2 different CellShock kits and both giving less than mediocre D9 results. I've never been able to run at lower than PL7.

Good to know. This is my first OCing rig and I bought the Abit (over Bloodiron and Asus P5K Deluxe) because so few had anything negative to say about it. It's been a great board to learn on.

Great results guys! Cellshock and Team Xtreem mems really kick some arses xD...

Good and bad news for me. Yesterday I picked up my new E8500 and the TP I45, but for my bad luck, the stupid Zogis 8600GT died a few days ago, and maybe its going to take 3 weeks till the replacement card is coming home, so, they are packed and locked in my closet ^^

Cryptik, what mems do you have in tested in the last screen? The Xtreem's¿?

I ordered the CellShock 1000 4-4-4-12 kit, couldn't resist having one of those especially for 63 EUR. But man I need to stop buying new ram now I already have a decent CellShock PC2-6400 kit too and another CellShock kit sent in for RMA.

RPGWiz, I think you'll like the CellShock 8000. I couldn't be happier with mine, it keeps surprising me all the time, mostly how little voltage it takes to hit good speeds. I am pretty sure I could keep DDR 1302 stable with a little more voltage, only thing is I still haven't installed a fan to keep it cool. Currently @ 577MHz on only 1.90v. PL7, all Pull-Ins enabled, drive strength at almost max. Setting drive strength to max doesn't seem to make any difference, for some reason?

I would think something like 2.2v would keep 1302 stable, so that's a goal for later.

Not in stock and costs 90 EUR on memoryc as opposed to 63 EUR for this CL4 1000 kit. Besides I like black color more and CL4 1000 should be at least as good bin as 5-5-5-x 1150 which is more common as there's even up to DDR2-1200 kits while there's no higher than 1000 for CL4. Basicly I don't think the red devils clocks much better, varies from sample to sample I guess. If it would do up to 1250 on 2.21v I'm more than happy. Would be nice if it allowed PL7 at 1200 but it seems CAS5 doesn't play well with PL7 as it wouldn't be work for me at a lower speed either if using CAS5 but if I used CAS4 at 1000 it worked.

As for ram cooling, I use 2x 80mm @ 25CFM fans that sits directly on top of the sticks in my open setup so I'm not afraid of ram getting hot at least. Still I wouldn't wanna go higher than the current 2.21v setting either as I'm afraid of elecromigration that happened to one of the Teamgroup sticks also at 2.2v but they were in use for quite a while though, maybe 2 years (and another owner b4 that).

I also went for the PC8000 CL4's, reason being I wanted GKX that was binned as GKX, meaning highest possible frequency and lowest cas latency. The 8000 CL4 kit is the highest binned GKX CL4 kit available. Also they will easily do 1150 CL5 like the 9200 CL5's, and are markedly cheaper. I think the 9200 CL5's are GKX binned like GMH (higher speed CL5) and I already have 2 kits of nice GMH so I wanted GKX that behaved like GKX if you know what I mean.

I haven't tested it but 2.2v would be close to stable at 651 MHz, but I think more like 2.22 - 2.25v would be closer to the mark.

Yeah that was my TeamXtreem in that screen, although my CellShock are as good, even slightly better in fact requiring less voltage at lower speeds, but the Team's just keep going, I had them POSTing up to 700 MHz on my P5Q-Deluxe on only 2.3v

Here's my Teams at 2.3v, but I think the CellShocks would also easily do this.

Once my 525W Enermax Modu82+ comes back from RMA I should be able to have a play xD. Currently have the Cellshock PC8000 kit on me as well as a D9GMH set of Crucial Ballstix Tracer 1066 in my DFI DK P45 T2RS Plus. MemoryC seems to have the PC8500 D9GMH Cellshocks now too? I don't remember seeing them before

No they were not there when I purchased my 8000 CL4 GKX kits. Be sure to show some benches when you get you rig together

Hey this is Xtreme Systems, for some the performance > safety.

What is too much vdimm is a personal opinion too. Some thinks 2.3v is safe, some want 2.1v or less, big deal, whatever makes YOU satisfied. Besides this kit is rated for 2.35V-2.45V, he's using LESS than rated stock voltage.

D9 GKX is made from the same wafer as d9 GMH and they are built on the same process, and are simply different speed/timing bins of the exact same IC. According to that, they have equal tolerance of voltages. It's like saying an e8500 cpu can handle more voltage than an e8400 45nm cpu. The process defines the upper limits of voltage tolerance, and in that regard, GKX and GMH are identical.

I needed 2.27v to pass Orthos blend. It passed Memtest 2.01 at around 2.05v; so it all depends on how one defines stability. If it fails at these voltages: 1) I could go to a lower voltage and everything seems to work fine; 2) I will have to RMA to Taiwan.
