    Weird temp readings

I am trying to get a sense of what my temps look like at stock speeds and am getting some odd readings. My specs are in my sig. I am using a Zalman CNPS-9700 HSF and my room (such as it is) is kept about 16c.

The first odd part is the difference between what the Aegis panel (1.0.2.34)shows and what Real Temp 2.70 reads. Looks like a 9c difference with Aegis showing the higher reading.

The second odd thing is that cores 3 and 4 do not do below 27c. If real temp is correct, it looks like the Zalman cooler is getting cores 1 and 2 to practically ambient room temp. When I shut off the AC in my room the temps go up a bit and all 4 cores take readings. Just weird.

Under load with almost 4 hours Prime95 and room AC on.

Under Load with 4 hours Prime95 and AC off.

Idle taken a few min after stopping Prime95.

This is a problem Unclewebb would be better equipped to help you with.

Have you made any idle calibration value adjustments in Realtemp? I was using Realtemp for a while aswell however i soon realized that Aegis was more accurate, RT was showing temps about 5 degrees higher than they should have been. After trying to compensate with the idle calibration values and not succeeding, i just uninstalled it and use Aegis Panel now. Realtemp was showing cores 2 and 3 as being 'stuck' for me, too, they wouldn't go below a certain value, but i'm told this is normal and that intel's temperature sensor technology is far from perfect.

What voltage is your Q9450 running at?

I have done no calibrations with realtemp.

It changes a bit. At base idle it runs at 2GHZ and 1.15v and at anything more than idle it runs at 2.6GHZ and 1.20v.

ya realtemp has to be calibrated to read correctly

my aegis panel & speedfan match perfectly realtemp reads about 5c higher but eye havent calibrated it yet been trying too many cpu's lately to calibrate every time

Aegis Panel reads a diode under the IHS.
Realtemp reads digital sensors in the cores
These sensors are to run TM1 & 2 & weren't meant to accurately monitor idle temps. Some will stop reading lower temps before others.
RealTemp sets the TJ Max for your CPU at 95C
Intel has finally come out & told us the TJ Max temps for 45ns CPU's

    Yours should be on 100C
You calibrate your idle temps here, to whatever you think is the fair thing.
