Saaammokin! I picked up an OCZ EliteXStream 1KW for about the same price (it's less now) but it seems like Corsair is ready to put on the pressure.

Quality unit with that much power at that price? It's almost like stealing it.

I bought one and liked it so much I had to get another. Amazing how power supplies have gone down in price since the introduction of Corsair PSUs. They're really set a new standard of quality and price.

Any electronics guru's (NOT PC GURU'S) out there know if this power supply has amperage protection on it. Either a circuit breaker or a safety cut-off or even a fuse?

Glad to see you guys are loving your Corsair 1KW PSUs. I bought one months back when a killer deal was going on. I got it as a back-up to another PSU (I won't mention the brand) that was a RMA DOA. Haven't had a chance to use it since the replacement PSU has been very well behaved. I've also been very happy with the 2 Corsair 750W TX I've used.

I'm pretty sure power supplies have OCP (over current protection) that shut the PSU down in the event of a short circuit.

this has been a simply amazing psu for me. it's one of those PSU's you invest in if you tweak every minor voltage on your board and devices, all 3 rails (3.3, 5 and 12) supply a damn solid voltage even under ridiculous load!

yeah i had a dual core at 6GHz with high vcore and overclocked cards with this PSU and HX620 with my laptop, crt monitor, pedestal fan and light running off the same outlet and the peak power usage i saw from the outlet was just below 1000W

so even with a quad core OCd pretty hard HX1000 will handle it all no worries

i used dual PSUs just in case heheheh
