twenn2 nice bike. Sorry to hear about the accident I had heaps of accidents on my moped when I lived in holland (it was like a 80cc dirt bike but with a 50cc engine) 85km/hr aint shabby! (but rather crazy with dodgy drum brakes).

I've been procrastinating for 6 months now after selling my SS ute to downsize and get a motorbike but haven't gotten the lessons yet. I will make the call tomorrow and take my learners permit test next week. you have inspired me even after your accident just glad it wasnt any worse and hope you get it all covered by insurance.

Drum brakes....!!!! That can't be good, let alone safe

Haha check that i've inspired someone! I'm humbled and honoured

Motorbikes are starting to make economical sense, they use much less fuel than a car, are softer on the emissions and cut travel times significantly. Plus they're a hell of a lot of fun!

    Mini Update

Ok just a little something to keep everybody happy

Today i received a package from Eddy!
    From Slovenia with love

I wonder what could be inside...

    Aha!

My new acetal top for the EK Supreme. I did take more pics but the camera battery died and i lost them . Then the sun had set and i couldn't take anymore.

I sat it on the mobo like so, just a little mockup if you will:

The Feser tubing arrived earlier this week:

    And some UV action!

Looky, teh mini DFi board glows too!

That's all for now. I've got some more off-topic photos to share but they can wait. I'm actually starting to get into this whole photography thing. It's good fun!

Haha pics are incoming tonight, stay tuned!!!

I saw a solicitor last Thursday, they are gonna handle the whole thing for me. The university runs a community legal clinic where final-year law students act under the supervision of a qualified solicitor. It's part of their degree, and as a community service it's free! Until we go to court that is...

I had an interview with one of the students and he said that the clinic would deal with the other party, all i needed to do was give them all the details, repair quotes and they'll do all the hard work. I honestly couldn't believe my luck when i found out it wasn't gonna cost me a cent!

Boys will be boys: Rad cleaning

Another little update. This one will make IanY proud!

As most of you know, my rad got gunked up with F1 dye, and unlike my pump and blocks cannot be dismantled for cleaning. IanY suggested that i hook it up to the garden hose and blast it. So on Sunday morning, that's exactly what we did...

Me and a uni mate got up to a bit of mischief, but i was stoked with the results. Have a look and enjoy.

First thing i did was to melt my 7/16 Masterkleer and stretch it over the tap fitting. It barely went on, just look at the stretch in the pic below!

But on it went, with a handy worm-drive clamp making sure it won't be coming off in a hurry!

The other end was attatched to the PA like so:

After triple-checking the barbs and tubing, we turned the tap on...

Just look at those biceps! I really should hit the gym sometime soon lol

Little by little, the pressure was turned up:

    Now it was really fizzing!

As per the title, our immature minds couldn't resist a little... C'mon, it was just asking for it yeah?

    Ahh, that feels better!

Now the aussies here will know that we're still on stage 3 water restrictions. Pretty much that means no watering lawns or gardens by hose. There are some exceptions, but what we were doing was definitely not allowed!

That should help the lawn a bit...

And one last one with the rad draining:

I had a look into the PA through the inlets, and there is still blue in there. But i figure that anything that has the potential to come loose already has. I'm telling you we let rip with that tap!

There's another off-topic update inbound, it'll be up as soon as my mate puts the photos on facebook. Until then...

I admit I was disappointed that the first action shots did not have any brilliant spray of blue water. Pretty cool and definitely xtreme

I can't believe my arms are actually bigger than someone elses!!!! That's amazing.

Yeah Level 5 here. We were on Level 6 but we had a great summer.

I'm glad that rad is cleaner now. It's not something you want to replace.

Nice one twwen2 -funny how a little toilet humor never really gets old

Can't wait for some pics of the build coming together now that you managed to clean your rad.

Yeah we have only just been dropped from level 3 to level 2 restrictions as we have had some great rain lately - which means that we can now wash our cars with a hose again

I can't help but check out your flow!

You really did make a mess of your lawn, those pictures don't do it justice. How's the grass looking?

My photos seemed to turn out okay after all! Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing the grand finale!

Don't worry twwen2, i don't think they realise you are about 10ft tall, plays a big part on size! (unless you are genetically gifted)

    twwen2,

Good job on the flushing. I'm proud of you.

Normally, I would prescribe what works for me, but I don't want to put you through unnecessary risk. I use a power washer on all my rads, but I'm worried about you damaging your pA120.3. My TCs have not been damaged on low settings on the power washer (its gas engined power lol) and I use that setting to blast my car wheels clean of brake dust, especially after a hard romp on a rainy day.

The outdoor tap should be plenty powerful for you. No sense being an egotistical hero (aka moron) like me

Lol that power washer sounds like fun!

There's still a blue film inside the rad which won't come off, it's really annoying me actually. However after that tap blast and about 15 rinses with boiling water, whatever is coming out has already come out. I think the blue film is there to stay...

In better news, i recieved notification today that my backplate for the EK Supreme has been shipped, finally! Expect some decent updates later this week.

    Update week!

I thought i might do a quick mockup using the mobo tray, with the intention a getting the rig up and runnning on air so i could intall Vista. Sadly, that won't be happening anytime soon thanks to the designers at DFI

    Check it out:

    The bare tray

    With mobo

    GPU and RAM installed

Ilove this angle, the 4870 stock cooler looks awesome if you ask me

    CPU and cooler

    In she goes...

Now one with the cooler sitting on the CPU. Those of you with a keen eye will notice that the push-pins aren't actually down. The stock intel cooler actually hits the NB cooler (also stock), ensuring that there will be no air-cooled action. What was DFI thinking...?

Oh well i guess this rig will be a pure WC one, never to see the air of day... man that was lame

Stay tuned, i've got heaps of updates in store for this week. It's just a matter of finding the time to write them up amidst uni assignments and part-time work!

    talk about bad design.
maybe you can remove the stock push pins and use the screw mounts for ek supreme?

and looking at your dominators makes me miss my ddr2s...
