    Hi people,

until yesterday my system was getting stable only in a very narrow area of settings. basically the following:

    Q9300 C1/M1, 3270 MHz
RAM latencies: 9-9-9-24-10-12-6, 4x1 GB Mushkin XMS3-1600, at roughly 1400 MHz
    FSB Clock: 436 MHz
    CPU GTL ref 0/2: 0.69x
    CPU GTL ref 1/3: 0.67x
    NB Voltage: 1.32V
    CPU PLL volt: 1.60V
    CPU Volt: 1.3250V

Any increase or decrease of the NB voltage caused Prime 95 errors after ten minutes. IntelBurnTest was running stable.
Any change of the GTL references made one of either core pairs unstable. Overall that made me extremely szuspicious, no system should ever be that much on the razor's edge, so I kept trying. IBT was showing me stable results at a far wider range of the above BIOS settings, but this was just too suspicious to not keep trying to improve my settings.

Now, all of a sudden....I tried setting PCI-E clock to 101 MHz since I had seen this to be recommened by Mushkin, OCZ and Corsair.
My system has been running 18 hours by now on PCI-E Clock 101 and NB voltage 1.28V. results?

7 hours 20 min. Prime stable! Using the 64 bit Version 24.14
    Intelburntest stable, 20 cycles!

Could it really be that the PCI-E frequency is helping us getting stable?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem with this board. On the IDE channel I have two DVD drives the second drive will only work if I change it to PIO mode in windows, which pretty much makes it useless. I have yet to test it another system (will shortly), but I played around with the jumpers and such and didn't have any luck. I was wondering if someone had a similar problem and fixed it. Also I believe with both DVD drives connected Express gate was not working for me and then when I disconnected one of them it worked perfectly! Any ideas? Thanks.

    Hi all,

Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you to all the contributors to this thread, I have only had my board for 5 days but I was better equipped than most with the excellent info you have here. I had a very shakey start with the board, all due to memory issues of course, I had the OCZ Platinum 1333 2Gig kit and it would only let me run the board on auto settings and no higher than 1000mhz!

I was told by a friend on the TPU forums that his problems stopped with this board as soon as he got the GSkill HZ 1600 kit so I got one myself and now I am completely stable, I have not tried pushing the memory yet as the sticks only went in tonight but today is the first time I have been able to push my new Q9650, here is what I have acheived so far....I stress this was a "deathrun" purely to really push the board and chip and is definatly NOT orthos stable

Once again, thank you all, I have used a combination of all of your suggested settings to get to here, the chip is orthos stable at 4.3gig now.

What amazes me, is I can get over 500 with the quad, now there aint many boards out there that can do that!

they need to come out with an X8900 chip. i'd get one. it would have to be like $350 or less to be worth while i think. it would be nice to have an unlocked multi on a dualcore again.

Uhhmmm...Finally I feel so tired with this board...I'm totally lose my patient with this "junk"...I've already sold my board to my friend...And now I think maybe it's the right time to try the R.O.G series...and Maximus II Formula will be my next motherboard but I won't buy the Rampage Extreme coz I think The "price" will instantly cut my throat...I hope that didn't make me dissapointed anymore...
The reason of why I feel so dissapointed with P5Q3 Deluxe is because it's stability problem issued and the "limitation" (either Processor FSB and DRAM FSB) of this board is make me feel so sick...
Hopefully my next motherboard would give me more satisfaction...

I think that you must find the correct setting.
Sure this motherboard is not easy for memory clock, but it's very good for high fsb and ddr3 especially with qx.

I must have been lucky, I had 3 days of problems, changed my ram and not a single issue since, big overclocks, 500+ FSB with a quad and as solid as a rock.....sorry others seem to be having ireversible issues.

Dunno, I guess them 4870x2's wouldnt particularily be overjoyed at just x8 bandwidth, not with all that juice throbbin from them

    Hello guys!

I recently got this mobo (thanks hipro) and next weekend I am going to try it with my phase and my Q6600 (and propably with an E8500). I would test the mobo the previous weekend, but my sillystupiduseless 8500GT wasn't working. I read about the problems with 1600 Micron chips (my kit is ADATA 1600 D9GTR), but I hope I won't have many problems

Sorry for my bad English :p
