are you familiar with Everest utility program?..that program will show you what "ns" your chipset latencies are set to.
the biostar is a good, not so expensive board...it will run a dual core relatively high in FSB and a quad at about the same on other boards..actually, i could go above 500 FSB with my 9650, although very relaxed latencies.

I thought I'd come here and ask the experts who are using the same x48T-DQ6 Gigabyte board as I am. I'm planning to get one of the q9550 processors with the E0 stepping when they finally make an appearance and wondering what the best Bios is to run with the q9550?
F5D and F5A are about the same...F5D might win out by a half percent![]()

Mine are C1 stepping. I use F5D, very good overclocking bios for my gear.

Could someomne supply a link to the F5D Bios. I can't locate it. One last question, the F5D Bios will support the E0 stepping on the q9550 if and when I ever get one?
Here you go... http://lakesidepc.com/x48tdq6f5d.rar
As far as E0 support, someone else would have to verify but I also have f6a I can host up if you want it.

How is this board in the memory overclocking department?
I have gone through the thread (...quickly), and I don't think I have seen anyone running much over DDR3-1600.
Supershanks has gotten up to DDR3-17xx...go here to review his thread at Clunk.org: http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/revie...ng-review.html

It won't clock the ram as good as my 790i does but I run the gskill 2x2gb hz kit in here at 1840 around the clock with decent timings. When I was testing an e8400 and my ock flex xlc kit in here I had some good 2000+ runs. I'll see if I can find the screens. Dinos had some killer ram clocks with those special corsairs of his.

I never really tried running up that high with my quad in here but there were some guys back earlier in the thread benching up around 575. As far as nb volts you should be able go some more, maybe even another .1v as long as you try and keep it cool.
