I would suggest you even try some higher manual values, like VTT = 1.7V, MCH = 1.5V.
MCH = 1.2V will be holding your FSB potential quite a bit.
    Thanks T_M
    Will do with the VTT
Highest I tried was VTT=1.62 and PLL=1.4 so that's my problem right there
I was doin' MCH 1.5V manually trying to get 500-600FSB
My first time on a DDR3 board

The OCZ PC3-1600 Platinums are rated @ 1.8V for 2000Mhz
    Auto gives 'em 1.96V @ 1500Mhz
So they probably need 2.1V for 2000 at that rate
Is that safe 24/7 longterm? electromigration?

Anyway I don't want to give the DDR's more than 1.95-2.00V MAX
but next time i get a chance i'll go for gold!

This thread has details of the sky high kind of volts i was pumping, and never killed that E8400.
Depending on your RAM, 2.1V is quite common voltage to use.
Ive been running 2.1-2.15V on my sticks ever since i got em.

After having toi RMAS my Cellshock bllue , am finally getting to play with my
Gigabyte GA-EP45T-EXTREME, coming from the ddr2 Extreme I'm surprised to see the differences between the 2 boards. In particular the omission of CPU GTLref altogether seems weird.

Anyone any takes on why ??

When they put CPU Reference in the bios the board gets unstable.
    They are working on it.

Great thanks , it really seems strange the DDR2 mobo was as sweet as anything ocing cpu I basically set it once & thenn left it to scale with vtt, it was rock steady.
So far not seen much difference , but had to add a notch of MCH over what ran well on the DDR2.

Hey guys, Alcibiades was nice enough to invite my over here( thanks pal). I've been having trouble going much higher than 4.8. I've gotten pretty stable at 4.3(430X10) but I've been trying to do a few suicide runs and I can't even make 500FSB(500X10) even with massive volts. Here's an example, here's my settings.

I can barely get into Windows, but I can't even open CPUz without BSOD. I even loosened my RAM timings to 9-9-9-24 and it makes no difference. Could it be my RAM causing problems?
Conversely, I'm prime stable with these settings. ( except MCH reference which is 0.76, This changes whenever I change CPU PLL, is there a connection between these 2?)

Am I missing something? Can someone help? I'm wondering how someone can get this high with under 1.3v and I can't get within 1000Mhz with way more volts.

@ x2s3w4 : first try to setting all AUTO in BIOS..the only thing you change is FSB.. and see if any difference. FSB 500 is really easy with this board, and i can get up tp FSB 550 stable with all AUTO setting.

You really think that this is real V ? NOT, CPU-Z's old-known bug.

Uuuuhhhh....... I guess you got me there with the voltage. I am on air cooling though. Most of those guys going higher with vcore are using LN2/phase ect though. Vdroop/vdrop seems excessive also. I set it to 1.4 in BIOS, in Windows it drops to 1.36 and under load it's 1.328. Seems like a lot. Any mods for it?
I'll try using auto everything. Thanks for the input.
Edit: Oh, are you saying that CPUz reading wrong is a bug? I hadn't heard that. Thanks for the info.

Alright, I wasn't able to get to 5GHz no matter what I do. I tried everything on Auto. I wasn't able to get higher than 4.4(440X10).
I also tried bumping the voltage to 1.88 and still couldn't get into Windows. However I was able to get up to 575X6 on all auto voltage. And 8.5X525, although I didn't get a screenshot of that. Here's the 570, it seems weird that auto tightens my timings.

alternative way by #16 you also can make a vcore mod.
