    Question AVG Anti-Virus...

I've been using the free version of this for a long time and I've just recently thought about upgrading to the full version. Does anyone have any experience with these two? If so, is the paid version really that different from the freebie one? I like to support software I think is well done and AVG hasn't let me down yet. I also started to install it on the systems I make for others since it's free. None of those people have had any problems either(some of the other people who I didn't install an anti-virus program weren't so lucky).

I used to use it.. but I never got a virus in 2 years (apart from my housemates lame attempt at hacking which resulted in his PC not working for 3 weeks) so ive stopped using one...

I have it running on my wife's PC 24/7. And I also have it on my server for the heck of it. I like the fact that it scans incoming mail and tells me when someone is trying to be stupid.

But like you... I've never had a virus.

I've had one virus in the 20+ years of PC computing. Received at home in an email from my boss

With my habits and virus record, I'd never pay for an AV. I use AVG free and recommend it to all for personal, non-commercial use.

AVG is pretty damn good, i use it on one of the computers found a serious virus not too long ago, i'm using Norton on my main one which is supposedly better.

If you use a firewall its harder to get viruses. I turned my fw off one time and 20 seconds later I had a virus. Amazing!

I have been running the free version for several years and so have many of the people that I have built pc's for. As far as I know none of them have ever been hit with a virus. I highly recomend it!

AVG is just as good as Norton, and it loads up much faster to boot. Highly reccomended,
