    E8600 Prime Stable Overclocking Database

Ok guys i figured i would start a Prime Stable DataBase thread of OC's specific to the E8600 cpu's. I will try and keep it up to date as much as possible.

Just post away with the info required and i will add you and if i come across ppl's primed OC's that are in threads already. I will add them too as long as i can see the Full Load Vcore and Batch Number.

Prime Stable Programs = Orthos Prime or Prime95, I will not use Linpack as a measuring tool.

    Info Needed, Required

    -Batch Number
-Vcore (full Load) (Post Picture of it)
-Minimum of 3 hrs Prime Stable (Post Picture of it)

the 4.0 attempts were for lowest vcore. Several chips ranging between 1.08v-1.19v were shown to be prime stable. I'm expecting 4.4-4.7 to be the top-end standard.

I'm waiting to see if these E8600's start to degrade from higher voltage before I even attempt something like 4.5GHz. Yesterday I hit 4.33GHz at 1.36V but I didn't stress test it. Meanwhile, I'll keep running at 4.00GHz for daily use until you guys' chips explode! Then I can see how much voltage to pump through my new baby while staying safe.

    PS: This one's a week 20. Q820A670.

    NOoOOooOO! Not yet.

Furthest I have been today is 1.384. However, I didn't stress test it, only ran Super Pi 32M.

I *might* go for something higher soon, we'll see.

Damn, i cant prime even for 10 minutes without crashing @ 4.7GHz......And i dont want to use more than 1.4v :P :P :P
Would lowering the multiplier and upping the FSB produce significally less heat people ?

can i make a suggestion to OP

you should use also note the type of cooling ppl are using as i just fell of the chair after i saw a 5.1GHz kitfit1 in first post and only later saw his sig.......

also please ask for ppls ambient temps if possible

i know at least some members here have tried to "impress" others with their OCs but they forget to mention that they've got a window open with cool winter or cold air hitting the rig

4.6GHz stable on E8600 sounds pretty good with one member
i do believe it's possible as i can bench easy at 4.8GHz on air (TTBT with 100CFM fan with 1.43-1.44v)....around 20-22c ambient

so dropping fan speed and 200MHz should be possible with this chip but it will never see prime as it's my benching chip heh

you reminded me of my old 3000+ AMD Venice

i was sooo obsessed at having a high clocked 24/7 rig that i ran it at 2750 or 2800 can't recall now and the rig was stable for my use (some games, normal stuff and some video editing etc.) >> the funniest part...........the rig could not even finish 1M SuperPi hahahaha

but i've run it for months and never had issues lol..........how the hell does a chip encode videos for 7-8 hours in one go and cannot even finish 1M SuperPi

    that was just magic

these days i run low clocks...low volts in main machine..........i think processors have reached some incredible efficiency that it's not even needed for me to push it hard to squeeze everything out of it
