I see what I see, and you see what you see. I can't make you see what I see, but I can tell you what I see is not what you see. Truth is, we see what we want to see, and what we want to see is what those around us see. And what we don't see is... well, conspiracies.
On max settings in a few games, I get the occassional lag between frames but with this driver, there's a significant improvement.
However, I just experienced a crash during gameplay, something which has never happened before so it seems these drivers aren't completely stable.
Oh well, they're beta so I shouldn't expect anything less I suppose.
They gave a nice 35FPS boost for me on average in COD4 on low-med settings now I can finally play @ 333FPS fluently.
Before you complain about lag, think about Jesus. He lagged three days before respawning.
WoW nvidia did there homework very good![]()

Stop looking at the walls, look out the window
So I'm the only one with stability problems I suppose?
These drivers cause Gears of War to crash, which I suspect is due to the fact that Gears of War has PhysX support.
Does anyone know how to turn off PhysX in the drivers? I'm pretty sure this is the problem, as my other games are stable but I still need to make sure.
*Edit* Nevermind, found it.

My Rig can do EpicFLOPs, Can yours?
Once this baby hits 88 TeraFLOPs, You're going to see some serious $@#%....

Warboy, what exactly is that "CUDA-Z" application you have? It looks interesting.
Well, with GPU PhysX enabled using these drivers, Gears of War definitely crashes.....at least on my PC.
Hopefully Nvidia will have this issue sorted out in the full release version.
Thanks, so this is where we need to start looking for the dreaded optimisations.

Very nice drivers. COD4 is now playable with a FPS below 60.
Sarcasm, cute
Back on topic...
I've been using these drivers for the last couple days for CoD4, TF2, and GRID. Overall I'd say performance is roughly the same, perhaps a few FPS boost at certain times. Nice drivers though, with how well developed G80 is, I'm surprised they're even able to improve it anymore.
That's one thing I'll give Nvidia... They make darn good drivers, their software team has my respect. It's their business practices over the last few years that I have a problem with.

Got a BSOD in nv4_disp.dll with these during a Unreal Tournament 3 session like with the other 177.xx drivers I've tried so I'm reverting back to the stable & nice 175.95 driver.

so far so good thanks for the feedback guys!
Ran a quick before and after with the built in Company of Heroes benchmark, DX9, custom settings and my scores were actually a little lower but within 1%. So no change really at least with CoH in DX9.
