I'm in if I come across a card but the prices up here in canada are just not good right now for the 512/ddr2 cards.

What if we change from DDR2 to DDR3? Cards are more widely available and most of the time not that more expensive. There are more GDDR3 cards on ebay as well.

or allow both? Just separate results for each.

We should do physx results while we're at it lol![]()

Why don't you show us how fast you can make those cards fold? Haven't seen someone try a subzero run to complete a wu
Serieus note, not feasable since the wu's differ from eachother. I haven't kept an eye on CUDA pi though, did anything come out of that already?
Havent seen it yet.
I think i've found a gem of a card though![]()

Ace then its GDDR3 for me a have a fine card waiting here anyway![]()
...and now the search starts all over again, lol
thankful we have finally decided GDDR3, cause then we won't have so many memory issues. Well.....not unless you make sure you get a good one
Got my eyes on a few different cards. Shall narrow it down to 1 by the end of today. Physx does sound like a good idea if we can get a realiable benchmark. Otherwise i am going to be concentrating on 3dmark03 again.

I reckon the best cards are those with 1G memory and an extra power supply connector. Galaxy has one, Asus as well.

Yeah, they are only sold in eastern europa and asia ... and probably already phased out. The Asus top card seems to be the right choice, although I think Zotac has a 1ns memory card as well.

if you go to Palits website and look up the 8600GT Sonic+ model its the basis for a number of rebadged cards, including the one I have. AFAIK they are all 1ns Qimonda. I've seen a 1ns Samsung based Asus (the TOP card version right?) and Zotac would seem likely but are again hard to pin down and I've seen some variation in their component choice. Pieter was the Asus card you saw with the PCI-E connector onboard also featuring 1ns memory?
I think the Asus TOP card (1008MHz memory) has 1ns memory, I'm not 100% sure, though.

Decided to go with the Asus EN8600GTTOP/HTDP/256. Hoping that 256mb of GDDR3 doesn't bottleneck me![]()
It's always possible to participate ?
I've made my purchase - no giving the plot away Pieter![]()
I will try to have a 8600GT , i have the other pieces
