DFI Lanparty JR P45T2RS quick play with E8600

Quick play on Lanparty JR P45T2RS with E8600 on LN2 about 5Liter and it can make impressive results from first Micro-ATX board on P45 chipset

    E8600@6.1GHz, 1.952V(windows) but in bios show 1.88V

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=406477

Spi 1M-7.672@5.95GHz, Memory all Auto and not any tweak

    Thank you to DFI Inc.

Nice. I have this board too but my memory is limiting my overclock. That's what I get with 8gb ram :-/

Why would DFI even produce such a MB? MATX boards are usually used in budget machines. I don't see any thing budget about it, DFI=$$$ compared to the alternative MATX MB manufactures, DDR3=$$$$ nothing budget there.
Who purchases most of the MATX boards? I would tend to think the major pc builders like Dell and others, I don't think they will be lining up sign contracts w/DFI to use in there budget pc's.

I think DFI could have used there time and money for better things. I didn't buy a bloodIron cause it don't ship with a bios that will start the E8400 and this was my 1st Intel build so no spare celron cpu to flash bios and I wasn't going to pick 1 up just for that.

Good point, but some people dont have the room for a midtower case so this mATX board is basically their only choice if they want to do any oc'ing.

I didn't realize that the Mem was DDR2 it at least brings this board a little more reasonable, But still WHY? I only see some1 purchasing this board as a replacement for a board gone bad in a MATX case, and then most MATX boards have built in Video, and crappy PSU which makes me think who's really going to buy this board.

No one said it has to make sense to you. Here's how i see it:

I'm still running an E6300 on the nVidia 650i chipset. I now want a high-end system, capable of running a single GPU (4870 for me) and clocking a penryn dual-core to 4-4.5GHz. I was waiting for Nehalem, but quickly realised that i won't see any significant gains for the meantime over penryn in the few games i play, not to mention uni work and other tedious things.

I don't really want a full tower case, and i can't fit a big cube anywhere within reason. So what option does that leave me? I can either buy a big case that i don't like and fill it with hardware i don't need. Or i can thank the DFI gods for releasing such a ripper mATX mobo that i can fit in a SFF case on the end of my desk.

    Make sense now?
