lol at first glance I thought It was an subtle bash at nvidia, meaning they are greedy and that it was too costly to produce two different chips instead of just cutting down fully fledged chips

Sucks for all the people who just bought a GTX260 tho ..
Why's it suck? That's like saying anyone who buys a car today gets screwed vs. the people who buy next year's model.

When has there ever been a guarantee that your hardware would never get outdated? This is computer hardware!!

And about 3 months after the 8800GTX came out the 8800Ultra came out. I guess the GTX users got screwed?

It's just called progress. Early adopters know very well they're always paying a premium. iPhone ring a bell?

Ah yes, my mistake. Still.. if it were the next week I'd understand, but it's not.

I bought my 9700 pro right before the 9800 pro came out. I didn't consider myself *screwed*. I could've waited.. no one forced my hand. I just didn't want to wait when the launch could be pushed back.

I guess this just reminds me of the whole thing where people get mad because they buy a card right before it gets refreshed. No guarantees. Besides, if the RV770 hadn't been a challenger I doubt they'd be talking about upgrading the GT200. They simply didn't know what to expect from AMD.

lol, I feel like I did the same with the 8800GT, I bought it for like $250 and now look at what I could get for that. I don't feel screwed because the card is still awesome, more like just kicking myself for not holding on to the money.

So according to Fudzilla a new NVIDIA card is new 65nm GTX260 and then seems that there will be no 55nm GT200 in following 2-3 weeks or more. Too bad. I wonder why NVIDIA has such a big problems with 55nm process while ATI has been using it from almost a year.
