Today and tomorrow, i´m going to do my final tests to this board, trying the WildstarOCT settings and pushing the volts a little higher and i hope all this issues go away.

If the problem continues, i´m taking the PC to the store where i bought it and if they can´t solve it, i´m RMA´ing it.

    Regards.
    Sorry for my poor english.

system temp= PWM, and those are hot, and 49 is nothing to worry about , only the R.O.G. got temp readout also for the NB.

However when I tried to push further like 1248 it needs massive bump of juice to 2.4v...
Also for the lantency part I got zero bandwidth gain on changing to CAS4 from CAS5 leaving FSB the same. I was wondering if it's a motherboard or BIOS issue and should I RMA this board at once...it's really bugging me
Wow that's a lot of volts for 48 MHz more. Also very odd that there is no gain in bandwidth when using CAS 4 at the same ram and FSB frequency. I'll have to test that on mine.

Are you sure that 'system' - pwm temp? I haven't seen anyone mention where the system temp is read from.

All these boards with different serious issues are making me think something is very inconsistent with Asus' manufacturing process - perhaps now the 'deluxe' name is being applied to poorly made, low end boards? I think this is the last 'deluxe' I'll ever buy, and I'm certainly regretting buying the one I have.

I'm not joking when I say my old P5B vanilla could achieve higher ram clocks without massive holes in the frequency range that my current board has. I know it's not my ram, as I have done 1000 - 1300+ benchable on a P5K, with no gaps in the frequency range.

    Hi there!!

I want to thank to WildstarOCT for his advice, i´ve tried the settings he said and the result was a nice boot

The only thing i did, for now, was to lower the CPU voltage to 1.281, and some quick tests with Prime95. Now i´ve left the CPU running Prime95 at the following settings to see if it is rock stable, if so, i´m lowering the other voltages to the minimum asap :

^Yes good point, try and lower the vFSB to 1.12v and start from there. The max rated is actually given as 1.15v by intel so if you can stay under that, it would be better for your cpu's health.

    1.15v? For 65 or 45 nm CPU´s?

    1.15v for 45nm CPUs
usually default VTT voltage for 45nm CPU is 1.1v as stated in the description column of the BIOS
    for 65nm chips I guess it's 1.2v default

I haven't called them for RMA yet; want to try swapping CPU before completely writing it off.

But i highly doubt my QX6850 died (will swap back to Q6700).

What exactly is the cpu margin enhancement? Thinking about updating my bios from 803, and I have seen you say something about that a few times, don't need any problems

It's a new option they added to the BIOS and I think it blew out whatever it controls on my 9450. Apparently there have been other people having issues with it that have 9450s. The other people having issues part came from a level three engineer manager at Asus. They are still looking into it. I can't go above rev 0803 because it won't boot completely to Vista with any newer revision then 0803 it just freezes at the progress screen but, with 0803 and earlier stable as a rock at 3.85Ghz 1.25v.

Hm, i have it set to Performance Mode. Not sure what it does but Performance Mode does sound better than just default Optimized :P

Thank you for that. I just flashed to the new beta and it seems ok so far, have not tried anything special yet, tho I did run Prime Blend for 1/2 hour just to be sure all was at least close to ok.

What I see with that setting, is that while watching Prime, when it was shifting from large to small fft, workers 1 and 3 got the load first, then 2 and 4. 1/3 were actually 1 ahead of 2/4 as to consecutive load. I believe from what I saw that the "Margin" that this setting is, is splitting load on the quad to offset the strain under load. Does that make any sense? At least it appears that way. Will test further this evening to see what gives, and TY again for the info

Mine was ok for bout two weeks.. I had mine set to performance... Your welcome. If that is true good observation. That might,, make sense as to why it stopped working eventualy for me "burnt it out".

Its a strange setting and no info on it is a bad thing. I left it in Optimized mode, I will see what gives with it over time I guess.

This is a nice board, but the memory has alot to be desired compared to some other chipsets, but then it really isn't mature yet i guess.

Guys, I've got a QX9650 that I've had overclocked to 4.0ghz over the last year on a P35 board. I need a new motherboard, and I'm looking for the same solid overclock (I'm not a benchmarker) on a stable board with a minimum of quirks. Do the 45nm quads do well on this board? Is it a pretty straight-forward board?

Hey another news about memory bandwidth...
I've asked a coo**ler forum's member to perform a benchmark on how CL4 / CL5 affect memory bandwidth...the MB he's using was Maximus II Fomula
and ooooops! The result is just the same as my P5Q-Deluxe: Zero improvement on bandwidth!
I think now it's not only P5Q-D has the problem with D9GMH chips...but also other P45 asus boards...even high end models...bleh
I'll send a report back to ASUS support forums and see how the mods react

    ..

I took the plunge an upgraded to 1306 from 1201. So far no issues. I'm going ensure i'm 100% stable by doing a good 72 hours of prime large fft's (my house gets warm during the day and cool at night, i need a large spread to ensure stability).
