this is why I always use start menu-restart to stop my clients. it'll stop them both at the same time...

just wait til you get on Vista, cntrl-x has never worked for me in Vista. mine always (100% of the time) errors if I don't use a proper reboot to stop them.

I always close with crtl-c when I have a program which likes a totally free cpu, that hasn't cost me a single wu in ages. YMMV.

Darnit just looking at my log, I haven't gotten a single A2 core wu to date while I thought I had the prequisites.

Hey I thought a2 was for winblows already as well, think I read it in the beta forums but I been otherwise engaged the previous week so I haven't logged in there since.

    GPU2 = Got Power Unlimited Two? :p

Might run a linux client soon ( in a vm though, together with a smp in windows ).

there was a thread where someone asked about it, but all that was said officially is...

Windows A2 has been a lot harder to get working. We're trying some different approaches to get it to work better.

Like a certain Mike not to long ago

VP saying their looking into it but there are problems mostly is a sign of it being a rather large issue instead of a small one. Dissapointed, was hoping to utilize the cpu better with a single instance already.

Lol nice pic.. I notice that allot when I come online, being euro and the rest of the team being more USA based, I often find times I'm the only one in fah

So, I got to go through all unread threads, post in them or not, and end up with a list looking like that

But I'm still not gaining on Sparky

Mike, I said this before to some other people here as well.

I like the competition aspect, but I'm also not in the financial position to compete with the big boys. I will be happy if I can enter and maintain a top 20 spot in this team, think that will be a feat on it's own with my hw. Though ppd are lower then they can be by 2K or so, still have my gf's rig running HCC for wcg. She likes that screensaver but already said if I wanted to change it back there was no problem ( she trusts my judgement ). And the single machine has done 6k on it's own, now around 4K.

And in a couple of days we all move to either X or S anyway, will give me another month lmao

Don't expect me to push 50K a day suddenly, if you do see this, check the dutch loteries because I must have won allot of money.

    Edit:

    Now darnit..

Sometimes when I read my posts back I see things and think... wth must people think when they read it. For me everything makes perfect sence, but I think my gratitude and enthousiasm are not showing here. Mike, come get me! I won't put up much of a fight, instead I will wave when you pass and give you a lil push in the back so you won't loose any speed. I'm perfectly fine with not being a big producer, I think my combined global rank ( from all former teams ) will put me in the top 2500 still and that's good enough for me atm. But I like being passed by the bigger fish, remember I'm in this for the science not the points

Uhm....right, well i followed this, the install.bat bit worked fine, but i can't even configure it - running it just does bugger all. Double click on the shortcut opens a console window and immediately closes it. Run CMD and try it manually and it just drops back to the c:\ prompt...

So far the only machine i have folding, is my PS3.

I have a desktop AND a laptop waiting to fold, and no clients will run on them (both attempts at running the systray clients failed - they insist on using a core from 2006 which does NOTHING.)

    Main Rig

    Intel Core i7-2600K (SLB8W, E0 Stepping) @ 4.6Ghz (4.6x100), Corsair H80i AIO Cooler
    MSI Z77A GD-65 Gaming (MS-7551), v25 BIOS
    Kingston HyperX 16GB (2x8GB) PC3-19200 Kit (HX24C11BRK2/16-OC) @ 1.5v, 11-13-13-30 Timings (1:8 Ratio)
    8GB MSI Radeon R9 390X (1080 Mhz Core, 6000 Mhz Memory)
NZXT H440 Case with NZXT Hue+ Installed
    24" Dell U2412HM (1920x1200, e-IPS panel)
    1 x 500GB Samsung 850 EVO (Boot & Install)
1 x 2Tb Hitachi 7K2000 in External Enclosure (Scratch Disk)

    Entertainment Setup

    Samsung Series 6 37" 1080p TV
Gigabyte GA-J1800N-D2H based media PC, Mini ITX Case, Blu-Ray Drive
    Netgear ReadyNAS104 w/4x2TB Toshiba DTACA200's for 5.8TB Volume size

I refuse to participate in any debate with creationists because doing so would give them the "oxygen of respectability" that they want.
Creationists don't mind being beaten in an argument. What matters to them is that I give them recognition by bothering to argue with them in public.

I am having 0 luck with this on Windows 7 64. I followed the steps perfectly and everything was indicated to be working except when I actually launch the client. It immediately closes. Tried running as Administrator and still no dice. Any ideas? I used this thread to set it up http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=199283

First off I think one post might have sufficed.

Secondly, did you install it into the users directory, taken that UAC still is running? What exactly happened when you tried running the install.bat to get MPI installed?

    /necro - again

tell me if you guys already know about this:

normally, the jobs coming down the pipe are 500,000 unit jobs. i had noticed on some jobs though that i was getting 750k, 1M, and even 2M jobs occassionally - unfortunately, they were all happening on my SLOWER rigs!! (aghhhh!!) so then i started looking at the config file (opened in text for editing). i noticed that part of the last 2 commands were chopped off (with the last one being "type=3" or something similar). so i tried an experiment and deleted the last 2 "command=parameter" instructions. well, shortly after i did this i noticed it was pulling 1M and 2M unit jobs!! (yeahhh!!!) now i get all types: 500k, 750k, 1M, and 2M (2M is the biggest i've seen).

anyway, just thought i would throw that out there for anyone who might be interested in doing bigger jobs. note: i had the size set to "big" already, but it only ever pulled down the 500k jobs until i deleted the last 2 instructions off the config.cfg file.

question: is there a way to get bigger jobs on the GPU clients? i'm only getting 15-20k jobs. it is the gui version (non-cmd line) and the size is set to "big," but the jobs they pull certainly aren't very large. note: i only have one machine running two GPU clients....the rest only run a single instance. note2: i am also running the MCP CPU clients. (basically, all the machines are completely unusable while folding - folding has to be turned off (CPU and GPU) to use it - even for so much as serfing the internet)

let me know if this is old news!!

I switched over to v7 client so that my rig can pull core16 wu's for my 5830 gpu. The only flag I have set for the v7 client is (client-type advanced), but lately all I am pulling is crappy wu's which have terrible ppd. (the 7610, 7611 etc.) Only way to get steady ppd atm is to have my gpu folding and constantly pulling 11293 and 11294 projects which get me around 7200ppd constant.
