Recommend case with ample space for SLI watercooling?

Fellas,

It would seem that most cases, even the larger full-towers, always have the mother board as low to the bottom as possible. The problem with this is water-cooling an SLI set. The return coming out of the bottom is *really* close to the bottom. The 1/2" barb I'm using nearly comes into contact with the bottom of the case.

Some of the cases that have the PSU at the bottom may be a better solution. I have quite a few older mid-towers, and even an ancient full tower, but all of them have the same issue.

There are plenty of cases on the market, but few of them, if any, actually do what I want. I initially approached my recent first crack at water cooling with the idea that I was going to build my own case, but I just want to get my computer back together again, for cryin out loud.

Any recommendations for a case that has plenty of space, in particular room at the bottom of the motherboard to run the return bend out of?

There are tonnes. I'll start with the Lian Li PC A70B and it's derivatives. Others could be a Silverstone TJ07 and the range of Mountain Mod cases.

This is a good example. For all the space this case provides, it looks like the PSU will be in the way of the return, again.

I'm leaning towards having the MB horizontal.. But even the cases I have seen with this configuration tend to have the bottom PCI-e slot butted close to the side so that getting a nice bend out of the SLI return is impossible.

The MM cases are extremely versatile and many here love the look of them too. Like others have already said, Lian Li makes some good stuff, the TJ07 is also worth a look.

Sorry but the LiLi is not even in the same league as MM in terms of versatility. When you purchase a LiLi, there is no option to choose which finish you want, but with MM you can....

Unless you are prepared to spend untold $$$ and time modding, go with MM...

I just saw this and was jealous.. I want something like this in anodized blue.
I've always had a thing for anodized.. I think it's a bicycle thing, as anodized adds only like 2-3grams :P

The Lian Li PC-G70B has a upper PSU and a lower PSU compartment. The space of the lower PSU Compartment is an excellent area for ensuring the tubing coming out of the third SLI video card is not kinked. Plus, a radiator can be mounted down there also.

Heh, I've got that case and I'm in the process of cramming a Feser 360, 240, and 120 radiator into it. 360 on the top, 240 on the bottom, and 120 on th back.

Order a MM Ascension with a Trinity Front and a Horizon motherboard. The mobo tray will be centered and there will be plenty of space for the tubing for the third Tri SLI card.

The versatility and function will blow away all other cases.

Now.. for the anodizing part... I'll leave it up to you to decide whether MM or LL is better.

I have a A-71 with a PA120.3 in the roof and soon a PA120.2 in the front. I just got my mountain mods and yes it is superior for watercooling, but the size of the Lian Li is far more versatile and the style is un-matched.

Actually, it's only a dual SLI. With the EVGA 790i Ultra, the 2nd card goes in the bottom 16x slot.

I like those MM cases, but I fear the cost of shipping/duty would be quite nasty.

I should probably reapproach my homemade idea. I just need to find a really big Mechano set.

CM has the new HAF 932 being released around the world as we speak. It's coming to US in next couple days. It's able to fit up to a 320 in top right out of the box. Price is right too at $160US. What is your WC setup?

+1 for Lian Li PG-G70B.

I am not that temperature greedy, so I only have the PSU and PA 120.2 in the top and a PA120.1 in the front along with the intake fan. This leaves room for pumps and nice tube routing.
