Ok, i finally took off the IHS, and bolted on my d-tek fuzion.

Very dissapointed with the results, on idle i got 33 degrees, but under load it shot up to about 85 or so (using linpack)

The funny thing is that as soon as I stop the test, it jumps straight down from 85 to 33. And when i say straight, its literally 85 -> 33, in the blink of an eye.

I checked the contact and the thermal past imprint was perfect. I also tried wiggling about the block while linpack was running, but without any change to the temps whatsoever.

    Hi all,

want to know if there's also someone with my problem.
got two E7200 that don't pass 3145ghz with v1.3625 on GA-EP35-DS3 F3 bios and Neo2-fr 1.97 bios, I get same OC on both boards. Used all multi. from 6x to 9.5x

can go higher with high voltage.

    I'm not new to OC, I been overclocking E2000, E4000, E6000.

    another thing I notice is that temps on cores are 7° diference core0 = 52° core1 = 60° 100% orthos, prime95.
other c2d are always same temp. on load.

    could it be bad chips??
don't have the batch right now, gonna check it and post later.

    Specs:
    EP35-DS3
    E7200 stock cooling
    Adata 1066+ vitesta
    corsair tx650
    8800gt

Interesting. I am considering going IHS-less too... I'll report my results this week. Are you using a shim, btw?

Well, they pretty much all have high VIDs... I wonder if they'll release an EO stepping for the E7200, like they are planning for the upcoming Ex00's...

Duh, of course I couldn't refuse to test the CPU. Didn't search for max values like max FSB or max clock, but did some Super Pi 1M runs.

Last E7200 I had, went 4.683 ghz on water. Now I got new one today, I'll just have to wait mobo until I get into the action with this beast.

This seems to be quite new one, pack date seems to be 07/16/08..

I made a shim out of several sheets of paper, with a hole cut in the middle.

In retrospect i wouldn't have done it, despite the contact being perfect i still got pretty much the same temperatures, and the water in the loop was at ambient temps. There is something wierd going on with the temperature sensors in these chips.

I would advise people to look for what is in bold to get a decent chip. From what I have seen, all the really high OC chips are SLAVN with A after the build date.

    my e7200@ 3.6ghz

    Vcore 1.45v
    NB 1.36v
    VTT 1.22v
424x8.5 it was stable before but now it was not stable

is it possible if your NB or CPU is getting hot can cause a reboot system?

    temps:
NB 29-31 idle 50-55 load degree
    CPU 30-32 idle 51-55 load

    tnx

I ended up having to leave mine at 3264mhz on stock everything. Stinkin motherboard and its lack of PCIE lock. 3.8 tests as 100% stable but I dont like running my poor 4850 with 119 PCIE speed. I have the bios page for it bookmarked and I check it every day lol. Also sent biostar two fussy emails and got a reply back that they are working on it.

I guess this is what I get for buying a cheap motherboard... I finally get a good chip and I happen to get a weak motherboard UGG!!! I never get good chips! I know this lil sucker would hit 4+ghz at sub 1.3vcore!!

Oh, if so, than my should be pretty ok: Q814A618. Also, I've seen the Q814 batch only on the ''real Wolfdale'' chip's.

K guys I have had this chip for a few months and love it, Have had it in a msi p35 ne02FR, asus maximus extreme, and asus p5Q3 dlx, and every one yeilded close to the same results. furthest was on the maximus extreme at 4.6ghz with 1.55v TEC cooling. I think I may know what alot of you guys overclocking prob are that are having troubles with abouve 3.2/3.4 ish. I see your posts and all have the same setting basically, what you need to do is rais the nb volts to 1.5v and VTT or VFSB (depending on the board but they are the same setting) to 1.45 and cpu vcore set to 1.4v and those babies will fly, thats been the general rule for all 3 of my boards , give it a shot wors case it wont work and you gained nothing.

    Oh BTW:
